  1. It seems to have resolved itself tonight... At least for me.
  2. Hi, I have a Lackey coin that I would be glad to sell. How can I tell the year? Oh..it's a 2005. https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=350413
  3. Try: http://web06.Groundspeak.com/login/default...%2fdefault.aspx for login.
  4. Good observation - If if matters - Bellsouth (AT&T) DSL, also east coast Also down on AT&T 3G service.
  5. You can narrow this down a little further by excluding caches that were placed recently: Placed < now- 2 years The PQ returned 500 caches that were placed at least 2 years ago and with GSAK, I could further filter that down to 44 with a center of Beaumont TX within 50 miles. It's possible that some of the caches just don't have a recent find and are showing up in GSAK when they should not be, but it's a good start for you... I'd invest in a copy of GSAK... You'll be glad you did. I think I'm not violating the TOU if I just send you the GC number... so I'll do that in a PM. Happy Hunting Happy hunting.
  6. We will get to the bottom of it this morning. Please be patient and I'll update the thread when I have more information. Thanks! We may have resolved the issue by restarting the My Finds generator but are pursuing other theories to be sure. It would be helpful for you to post whether or not you are successful as Flask has. Yes. Mine showed us well today. I suppose that ill know for sure if this is fixed in seven days thanks for the prompt attention.
  7. OK - Plenty of understanding and duplication of the problem.... Probably "wrongly", I copied this thread over to the release notes thread so that it would be assured of proper attention by the PTB. Thanks all. Nuff said.
  8. Don't know if this is related to the recent udpate, but a problem with the MyFinds PQ: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...t&p=4122679
  9. I've certainly seen this problem... I think mostly when using an ATT aircard for internet access. If you click on the map window, you should still get the new page with the google map on it and that should work.
  10. Thanks for the details.... I've clicked it before.. I've seen it work. Just not working today. The PQ never submits, so it never gets queued for processing.
  11. Last run on 10/14/09 - Only 2 other PQs run in the past 24 hours...
  12. As of today, I can't click the MyFinds PQ Submit button. This has always worked in the past. When I click it, the page refreshes, but the PQ does not indicate it has been submitted. Win XP, IE 7.0 <INPUT id=PQListControl1_btnScheduleNow type=submit value="Add to queue" name=PQListControl1$btnScheduleNow> ???
  13. Does not work here either.... refreshed the cache page to make sure that I had the most recent. Sometimes I get a message that says: "A location for '' could not be determined." other times, it inserts the zip I am searching on.
  14. There is something going on... I stopped getting emails on my own "Owner" logs... and I also noticed that some of my InstaNotify entries are missing as well. I just created them again... will see if they stay.
  15. Actually, in the case of this cache, the owner indicates: "To claim credit for this cache, all you have to do is to tell me, by e-mail, what is at this location. You don’t have to send a photo or anything else. You don’t even have to go there. If you can find this unique and magnificent object by use of the web. . . well, go for it." So.....the reviewer approved it... and off we go.
  16. I wonder how many of those 13,000+ finds were of that variety. If you look at their record, it seems that they are quick to replace a cache for others. I think we would all do the same if we had experience with the given cache or a nod from the owner. In this case, however, there were no DNFs logged prior to the apparent replacement.
  17. If I relied on GC.com as a means of income, I might be upset when they went down for a little bit. If I relied on GC.com as a safety resource, I might be upset. If I relied on GC.com as a means of communication (like these forums), I might be upset... This is a game, people. We pay (if you do) a minimum amount for your montly usage of the site. I would bet that if you really wanted credit for the time lost, GC.com would give you the nickle. I think they work pretty hard for our enjoyment. That said, feedback is a gift that should be given freely, honestly, and often. Make sure your complements come with the same vigor as your complaints.
  18. Sounds like your PayPal account was funded by your checking account, not your credit card. Checking account payments are like paper checks and have to wait to be cleared. Go back to Paypal and see how the payment was sent. The code in the subscription notice tells Groundspeak how you paid. If there is a problem, it is probably with Paypal and you should start there.
  19. I like this idea.. Your ignore list becomes my watchlist. No longer do I have to taste the food since I someone to do that for me. If it passes the smell test, then maybe I could go look for it. Remember people, half the journey is getting there, not what you do with it when you find it. Be honest in your logs. If you looked and did not find, or looked and did not like what you found, please say so in a nice way. THAT is how we get better at this game... not just refusing the invitation to the party.
  20. I follow a couple of rules that seem to make good sense here and work for me: Take time to hide quality caches. Take time to write a good cache listing. Monitor the comments that your finders are putting into their logs. Monitor the number of finds per day, per week, and the trend of people finding it. Keep track of the DNFs and the reasons for them. When there is no interest in your cache... for any reason... figure it out and fix it or archive it. If you hide a 1/1 and nobody is even looking for it, you have a problem. As a cache placer, my responsibility is make sure that I have added value to the sport by placing a cache that provides some interest to the participants in my area. I can tell very quickly if I have hidden a lame cache either because it is too easy or too hard. I think you can get more information from just paying attention than using some arbitrary 'ignore' statistic. Additionally, just because 5 people are ignoring a cache does not mean that I would ignore it until I checked it out myself. I tend to think that I can form my own opinions rather than trying to figure out why someone else chooses not to see a cache on their searches.
  21. I have not tried that...but if you will send me your 660, I'll let you know if I can figure it out.

    Pq Problems

I use PQ GPX files as input to a couple of utilities including GSAK and Cachemate. I noticed two problems this week that I reported to Groundspeak. 1) My PQ GPX files for "all caches w/in 100 miles w/ TBs" was returning incomplete information. There were no TBs listed in the GPX file for some caches. [edit: This works fine if I look at the preview on the web site. It's just the emailed file that seems to be incomplete.] 2) My PQ for "All my finds" (the new one at the bottom of the PQ Screen) was missing my log entries. This messed up GSAK and CacheMate because they are expecting to find a log entry with my userid on it. Like I said.. I asked Groundspeak and they asked me to post the question on the Forum... so... anybody else seeing problems like this? Kevin
