  1. Many thanks for that. It took me two attempts however the second was successful and I now have the OS Maps back. Brilliant!
  2. I download PQs once a week to GSAK and from there to my Oregon 450. For whatever reason the 4 or 5 most recent logs for many caches don't appear. I expect this is a question of settings however so far I've been unable to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated.
  3. Brilliant! Done it. Many thanks - it's so obvious once you know how. For some reason I thought that using the upload image tab would load to the cache log which I had already done. Thanks again.
  4. What is your mission? If attaching it to a log entry doesn't help your mission..... How about sending the photo to the TB owner and perhaps they can help you with your mission? I have no mission, just a wish to add photos to a TB page rather than a log. Your suggestion is a good one. Thanks.
  5. Question answered, thanks. It was adding images to other people's TBs that I had in mind, so it would appear that can't be done. Thanks again.
  6. How do I upload TB photographs to the TB's web page rather than to a cache page? I have no problem uploading photos to a cache log but can see no way to upload to the TB's web page. I'm sure there'll be a way but so far it eludes me.
  7. I've been a bit slow in implementing the advice received however I have now loaded the caches from GSAK into the Tom Tom using the Big Wolf macro. Caches now appear on the Tom Tom screen where expected but no audible alert sounds despite all relevant choices having been made (as far as I can see). Re Bear and Ragged's advice re updating, I use Tom Tom Home to update the device and it advises that the device is up to date. Any further advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. Tibbermore
  8. Thanks for the replies and advice. I've downloaded the TomTom macro and emailed Snaik. As far as I am aware my device has the up-to-date software, and user added POIs can be installed - it's most likely my incompetence that has got in the way of progress tibbermore
  9. I use a Garmin Oregon 450 for caching and I have a rarely-used Tom Tom One for vehicle use. I use GSAK to download PQs from Geocaching.com to my PC and from there to the Garmin. From what I have read in forums and cache logs it would appear that it is possible to load information re cache locations into the Tom Tom and receive an alert from the device re a nearby cache while driving. So far I have failed to load cache locations into the Tom Tom from GSAK. Any advice on 1. whether this is possible and 2. if so how to do it (in simple terms preferably!) would be much appreciated. Thanks. tibbermore
  10. Given some of the places in which caches are hidden, how about a "thicket"?
  11. I have experienced a similar problem with my Oregon 450 and it seems to happen after downloading a PQ to GSAK on my PC then loading onto the GPSr. It only happens occasionally but when it does it is always cured by repeating the download of the PQ and subsequent transfer from GSAK to GPSr (ensuring freshly charged batteries in the GPSr). I assume it's caused by a corrupted file or some other glitch in the download procedure. Hope this helps.
  12. Thanks for that; it sounds a reasonable explanation. I might give editing the macro a go to increase the hint text size, however I'm not sure if my technical expertise (or lack of it) is up to the job! We'll see. Thanks again. tibbermore
  13. While following the "Aged Eyes" thread, I decided to try the macro described by Triple Crown as I too have difficulty reading displayed cache info without glasses. I downloaded, installed and ran the Garmin GPS Export macro in GSAK. I later downloaded PQs to GSAK and from there to the Oregon. There was no difference in the font size or other details. Being a complete novice in technical matters such as macros, I assumed I must have made a mistake with the installation therefore I uninstalled the macro via the Run Macro window in GSAK. A couple of days ago I updated the Oregon Software to version 5.1 and on restart found that the cache description page and logs were displayed in larger fonts than before (but not the hint page). Today I updated the Oregon software to version 5.2 and on restart found the same larger fonts as described. Can anyone explain why this has happened? I assume the larger fonts are not part of the software update as I'm sure not everyone would welcome them. The Run Macro window in GSAK shows only 1 macro installed, viz. LogCache.gsk. If I don't want to keep the larger fonts, can anyone advise how to revert to normal size and prevent the same thing happening again? If I do keep the larger fonts, any advice on how to extend them to the hint page? Sorry to be so long-winded, but I'd like to know what has happened. tibbermore
  14. This happened to me today. Got the usual email to say a PQ was ready for download but when I clicked on it to download as usual I got the message that it was not available then it disappeared. I seem to remember this happened 2 or 3 months ago and was sorted out quickly - let's hope this happens again.
  15. I'm still fairly new to geocaching (March '11; 158 caches) and thought I was alone in my dislike of the "m" word other than in the Harry Potter context. I think it's sad that a world-wide game/hobby, call it what you will, with a huge following, has borrowed a term from another medium rather than coming up with one of its own, if in fact one is needed. I agree with GeoGeeBee that "people" is ideal when the occasion demands.
  16. In February this year I paid mine by Mastercard - amount charged £19.01. Well worth it.
  17. Just had exactly the same experience. Got the email saying the PQ was ready for download but when I clicked on the download I was told it was no longer available. Obviously a glitch somewhere.
  18. Thank you. Transfer from GSAK worked perfectly - all now in GPSr.
  19. Many thanks for the very helpful replies. I like using GSAK for record purposes so will probably load from there, however I can see the attraction of the "direct" route. Thanks again.
  20. Until now I've been downloading caches one at a time from geocaching.com to GSAK, then to my Garmin Oregon 450 as required for the next caching expedition. This has worked OK for me however I thought I would try out a Pocket Query so that I have details of all other caches in the area I mean to visit. I've successfully downloaded to GSAK my first PQ of 1000 caches in the area centred on my home. I'm now at a loss as to what to do next and would appreciate any advice on how to proceed. I presume there is a way to load all of the caches into my GPSr at once but I can't see how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
  21. OK, thanks - done that and I now have Enter Next Stage in the options so that's a step forward and I'm grateful for your advice. However, as I said elsewhere in reply to ecanderson in relation to Change Location in Mark Waypoint, pressing Enter Next Stage produces the British Ordnance Survey map grid reference and the necessary keyboard to change this, but no alternative which would allow modification of coordinates. I hope you have the patience to further assist if possible! Thats easy to fix. Set up, position format, position format and select hddd mm.mmm (Also make sure the other two settings are WGS 84) Whatever you have this set to in the profile, the GPS will ask you for the cords in that format. Geocaching uses hddd mm.mmm so you have to have the GPS set to that format. Brilliant! That does it I really appreciate your help in sorting this out. My thanks to all who responded.

  23. Mark Waypoint Save and Edit Change Name (to whatever you want) Green checkmark Down arrow key Change Location (to whatever you want) Green checkmark Red X Thanks. I've tried doing exactly as you say, in fact I had arrived at the Change Location step before my original post, however pressing Change Location produces a screen showing the British Ordnance Survey map grid reference and the necessary keyboard to change this, but no alternative which would allow modification of coordinates. As I've said elsewhere, I must be missing something so please feel free to point out the obvious. Thanks again for your time and help.
  24. In the example I gave it has to be done in the field from observations of features near to the cache. I'm sorry but I don't understand your advice to use "Enter next stage". Can you clarify please? its one of the options like log, show hint, etc. You figure out the cords in the field and then you select enter next stage and then you enter the cords for the final. Then it will navigate you to the final or next stage I take it you mean the options which appear in the "Currently navigating to......" screen? If so, "Enter next stage" doesn't appear in the options shown by my Oregon 450, nor can I find "Enter next stage" anywhere else. Any other ideas? I'm obviously missing something so feel free to point out the obvious
  25. I know I can't change the coordinates of a geocache but in the example I gave the geocache site advises that the coordinates provided apply to the car park from which the walk to the first geocache starts. It is those coordinates that require to be modified, following the clues provided, to produce the coordinates for the geocache itself. Your suggestion to use Mark Waypoint seems to be the answer however while I can modify the name I can't see how to modify the coordinates. I'd be grateful if you could explain this step.
