Nevermind. It's working normal a couple hours later

When I am viewing the map and click on a cache, the info that shows on the left menu is only a quarter of an inch tall. It used to fill the entire left box where you could easily scroll through the cache info and recent logs. I'm using Chrome (Version 81.0.4044.122) on Windows 10.

On the main Pocket Query page, when I click the icon for "Preview PC in Geocaching Maps", it opens the map at my home coordinates and shows the normal caches around where I live. It does not show the PQ results or zoom to the area the PQ is centered around. Also, if I click the Pocket Queries tab on the geocaching maps and select a PQ, it does not show any results from there either. Thanks, Whittling Fisher

The calendar on my 450 just shows the date. It doesn't show caches found by date or show when you marked waypoints. You can see which geocaches you found under the Geocache page, but it just lists them by distance from your current position. I haven't downloaded the most recent update that came out last month, so things might have changed (but I doubt it).

Must just be the NC abbreviation when combined with Charlotte. Weird thing is that other cities I've searched for in North Carolina using the NC abbreviation work fine (Ashville, Raleigh, etc).

I was searching for caches for a trip we were planning today. I typed in "Charlotte, NC" in the search box on the home page of geocaching.com, and it takes you to some place in the south Pacific near Australia. I also tried opening the geocaching.com maps, and typed "Charlotte, NC" into the search box on those, and the same thing happened. If I open up MapQuest, and type the same thing in, it shows North Carolina. I'm guessing it is a geocaching.com thing. Haven't had any other problems like this, only Charlotte.

I got one about a month ago and like it a lot. My 60csx got stolen, so I upgraded to teh 450 when I found it on sale. I love the geocaching features (descriptions, hints, etc). I like to hike in the mountains where there is lots of overstory cover and haven't had any problems with reception. Touch screen was different from any previous units I have used, but after a week or so I got used to it. Overall, I enjoy using it for geocaching and would buy it again. If you haven't held one and played with it a bit, I'd suggest going by a store and taking a look at one in hand.

Be sure you get the firmware updated to 3.80. There's some good new features and function vs. previous released code. I just recently got a 450 also. I found this website http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Geocaching to be very helpful in figuring out some of the features of the Oregon.

I believe that you can pay for 3 months, and if you do not renew it you just go back to your normal membership after it expires. I'm not completely sure though since I've never done that. If you become a Premium Member, you can create pocket queries (PQ). Say you are going to a certain area in Colorado. You can select a zip code, enter in exact coordinates, or pick a geocache (GC####) and get 1000 caches centered on that location. You can create several PQ's to get a larger area if you need. You then download the PQ as a gpx file, which can then be put on your GPS. A lot of the new GPS units allow multiple gpx files and around 5000 caches to be loaded at once (may be more or less for some units). The "how big an area" question you asked depends on how many caches are in an area. You can get the closest 1000 caches to a point, which may be a couple hundred miles in remote areas, or a lot less in heavily cache populated areas. Hope this helps some.

I used a unit that didn't have maps for a year or two. It just had a screen that showed a track of where you had been. I found lots of caches with it, but once you have maps you wonder how you lived without them. The main thing I like about maps is that you can look at the screen and see where the geocaches are located relative to where you are. Plus, it make it easier to navigate by road to them. If you hike in the woods while caching, topo maps are very helpful in looking at the terrain and what is between you and the cache (creeks, steep elevation, etc). In my opinion, maps are very useful, but you can certainly find caches without them. You can get good quality units like the Garmin Legend Hcx that has a basemap and is pretty cheap for what you get. You can add free topo maps to it also. Just an idea.

I don't have a GPS that can do this yet, but from what I understand you need to go to your fieldnotes on geocaching.com to upload your finds. http://www.geocaching.com/my/uploadfieldnotes.aspx I think you just pick "Garmin" and follow the instructions.

From what I've seen, the Garmin 450 is a great unit for what you are wanting to do with it. You might want to check out the touchscreen and make sure you like that (most do). If you like buttons instead of touch screen, you may want to check out the Garmin 62s coming out at the end of July. If you like you 60 csx, the 62s is pretty much an upgraded 60csx. Just another idea.

I believe the My Finds PQ has changed a little since a month ago. I don't think they are sent to your email anymore. Instead, on the "Build Pocket Queries" page, you should see a tab that says "Pocket Queries Ready for Download". Click on the tab and it should be there shortly after you clicked the "add to queue" box for "my finds". If that is not the problem, then maybe someone else can help out. Hope you get it to working again

I've been having the above issue too. It looks like it is giving me 999 caches centered on my location I chose in GA. Then it will randomly give me 1 cache somewhere else. The first time I looked at the google maps link, the additional cache was in Alabama, then Ohio, now it is in Washington (the rest were all centered where they were suppossed to be). Kind of weird

I've tried scrolling as fast as possible and the page hasn't throttled me. every time you scroll it registers as a hit to our system. I'm not sure what happened. It occurred right after the map "froze" with the "requesting geocaches" phrase stuck in the middle of the map. I wasn't sure if that was registering as several fast hits to the system or not. I haven't had it happen again, so it was probably just me clicking on the cache icons on the map too fast or scrolling too much. I'm not using Greasemonkey (I think that is a firefox app). I've been using IE8. I haven't changed anything on my settings in a long time, so it shouldn't be that. Thanks for all the quick responses to let us know your looking into it. I forgot to mention that I got the "Limit Exceeded" page right after I moved the map and the "Requesting Geocaches" thing came up in the middle. It never went away and just kept spinning. I think I hit the refresh button or back button and then got the message. Not sure if that would have caused the problem.

Only from your spouse. Not at all uncommon in that situation, but otherwise... no. Not sure why that happened then. I've never had that happen before, so hopefully it was just a random occurence. My wife is still at work right now, so that wasn't the case

Looks like it already let me back in after a couple minutes of waiting. Maybe it was just a glitch. I'll try to take it slower from now on
