  1. Here's a puzzle from Livermore CA that suits Presidents day well! http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC1Z1YV_americas-greatest-presidents
  2. Now i know my ABC's, next time wont you sing with me
  3. Like previously posted, looking for larger sized caches to begin will help. When I first started out I watched a few videos on Youtube just to get the idea of what a geocache could look like
  4. The path to the cache is where all the fun is.

    Statistics

At the top of your statistics page, there should be big button that says "Refresh Statistics now. Last updated: ***" The stars would be the last time you updated it. It sometimes will refresh on its own, in which it will say that it was refreshed less than a minute ago. If you can't click the button, then they are up to date
  7. I'm on a roll of needing basic questions answered today that I cant find answers for... I'm looking into getting an Oregon 450 and I can't tell if you can look at the map on it and see a bunch of geocaches on it, or if you can only see one of them once you select it. If I were to go hiking or biking, and I just wanted to follow the trail until i see a cache appear on the map, would I be able to do that? Thanks!
  8. I think your problem in the bolded-underlined part of the post... you have no business opening it. It does you no good whatsoever. Just open MyGeocachingProfile -- you should have a shortcut or icon on your desktop. It will pick up on the My Finds download by itself, or you can direct it to do that. At this point, you (I think) need to save or have it apply the new data to the program. You should be all set. Yes! That must have been what I was doing wrong. Thank you very much, got it all squared away now
  9. Okay I didn't realize I needed an application to download the files now. I got it, thanks for the help. Think i'ma try the Icaching app in the macbook app store. Thanks again guys!
  10. Yeah I wanted to upload it to MyGeocachingProfile.com (Wasn't sure if i could say website here) to see what it's all about. GSAK wont work on my mac so I was trying something else.
  11. So I ran the my finds PQ and got the email. Im trying to download it to a zip file for a stats page, but when I go to open it, it says there is no application that can support it. I have a Mac, not sure if that disables me from being able to do it? Thanks for the info
  12. I believe the rating should stay what it originally is placed as. What if someone solves it before there are any hints, when it is rated a 5 star.. But can't get to the location to log it for a week and only gets a 3 star for his effort?
  13. When an owner changes the difficulty or terrain after you have already logged it, will it change on your stats? How about on your D/T grid? Been wondering about this for awhile. Thanks!
  14. This is what makes geocaching fun! How can this be a bad experience at all. I'd rather have this then a park and grab anyday
  15. I can see on my map, and others Iphones the members caches around me, yet they will not show up on my phone at all. I am subscribed for the year, so I know its not that. Any ideas on how i can get them to show up? Thanks!
  16. There are a little over 3k caches within 15 miles of my home.. Many with over 50 favorites on them. It'd be a dream to get every one of those, but until then I won't have to drive very far to get some great caches
  17. This is a great goal! After a year of geocaching.. I have definitely been to caches that I could have lived without.. I love those caches that are so thought out or in such a good area that you leave with an adrenaline rush. I am also going to focus more on those caches this year, rather than chase down every Lamp post cache published. Merry christmas and happy new year everyone!
  18. Was thinking about my goals for 2012 as a geocacher... 2011 was my first year caching and I had a blast! Being a college baseball player there may not be much time for me to get out there until summer so my goals may seem small! Merry Christmas everyone!! 500 in 2012 (Basically just a three month summer period for me) 1- 5x5 5- 5 difficulty caches 25 Puzzles caches Find a cache with over 100 favorites
  19. I want to hide a cache in a pole that is about six feet tall and hollow. I want to hang it about halfway down and make it so cachers have to drop it to the bottom rather than pull it out. Any suggestions? My first thought was tie fishing line to a key ring which is locked on a combination lock.. I have a feeling people will just pull the line up without using the combo to release the line. Any ideas welcome. Thanks
