yeah, shipping is high, he has a point. BUT, his defensive attitude is less than to be desired. His email correspondence when attempting to order coins was equally rude. I would not have been so unhappy with paying the money if he was even remotely friendly about it.

My husband is very allergic to it. He eventually had to get a poison Ivy shot. He would get one once a month and that helped tremendously. He is a Forester and is constantly in the woods. He would also carry alcohol and alcohol pads with him. As soon as he got back to his truck, he sould rinse off his exposed arms with alcohol and wipe his face and neck with the pads. That seemed to help him as well. He really wouldn't get the bumps so bad as it would make his neck and face swell. THose things seem to help him tolerate it pretty well these days.

I was looking for a GPS unit for an odd reason. My other hobby is photography, and since we have moved to MD, there are some beautiful, OLD, places to photograph. Well, I always see these places when we are en route somewhere and I don't have my camera. So I thought if I could just mark the coordinates, I could return with camera equipment and good lighting and do some shoots. WELL, while googling, I checked out Garmin, and its site had the geocaching section. The rest is history.

I think the camelbaks are great. I don't get the rubbery water taste from mine. I use them everywhere. I got hooked on them in Iraq. WHAT A LIFESAVER!! Like a previous poster stated, the water doesn't get hot. We also managed to make a insulated pocket in a larger backpack to hold the bladder. Might require a bit of homemaking skills, but may serve as a cheaper alternative that purchasing the camelbak backpacks.

We always take a map and compass when we hike. WE have the GI issue and the SilvaRanger. Both are lifesavers, so I'm sure I'll use them when I get into this geocaching thing.

I am so excited. I recently learned of Geocaching, now I'm hooked. I ordered my GPS unit today, so I can't wait to get going! Although I can read a map and use a lensatic compass, I will have to figure out the tech side of navigation. I just wanted to share my excitement!! GEOLANDS

I used Gerber for the longest time, but I I didn't like the deal with the knife blade on the inside, so I bought a leatherman. Now I think Gerber has come out with one with the knife blade on the outside. I still use both extensively.
