i have to extend my abject apologies to those who have upped their shipping costs. usually i just pay the postage and not really pay much attention. so today i paid attention. $2.32 for postage. $1.29 for mailer. ok, i could buy cheaper, but with as little as i sell the convenience of buying at the post office is a choice. tape to put on the address label. gas. AND if you add tracking, that is another $1.05. don't ask me why i felt it necessary to add tracking to a $10 coin. to canada - $7.52 for a coin. add the above and you are at about $10 for shipping to canada. i understand it is NOT nuts. so $3.50 seems like a pretty good price for shipping. my BAD! as from NZ - i add the cost of shipping to the cost of the coin - if it fits in the budget then all is cool. if not, i am so sorry for keewee.

i agree with you totally. it was only when i realized that most of the logs were virtual did i consider deleting them. i am just leaving them alone!

That's what I do also. When I see a coin of interest I determine how much I wish to pay for it including declared shipping and then I bid accordingly. For me it matters not whether I pay $20 for the coin and $5 for shipping or $10 for the coin and $15 for shipping; 25=25... Agree, for me my maximum bid is a combination of the coin price and total shipping costs. if the sum of it is higher then the max price i want to pay i stop bidding. I have seen single coins on the eBidding place having shipping costs of 25$..... ok, makes sense. i just have to start looking at it that way. :-) i did do that recently for a coin from overseas. the total was within what i wanted to pay. have to think that way in US.

that makes sense. on impulse - what else - i bid on an old personal - $10 or so. then shipping was 3.50. i am paying a third of what the coin cost again in shipping. my bad, i should have looked first. but i am through buying on ebay unless it is so fantabulous i have to have it if the shipping stays high.

i have watched as shipping costs via ebay rise and rise. we are now at $3.50 for "economy shipping." hate to see what fancy shipping cost. yesi know packing materials cost money, gas costs money. we've had that conversation before, when shipping jumped to $2.50. but even buying mailers one at a time at the post office i have never spent $3.50 on postage. if a seller feels their time is worth a growing shipping rate, then put it into the cost of the coin. it's going to have to be a coin i really want before i pay that much again.

we will just leave them alone.

i recently bought some activated coins which for one reason or another i have decided not to keep but instead sell. they have dozens and dozens of virtual logs as the last owner was very nice in sharing his collection online for people to discover and gain the icons. now if i was planning on keeping the coins i would delete the virtual logs because i don't like them and they seem to go against the whole theory of discovering coins in person. but since i don't plan on keeping them, should i just leave the logs alone and let the new owner decide what to do with them? lara

cute bear bounced into the mailbox today. tennessee jed, the paler coloured one. in one collection on cointracking it says there were only 35 or these made. i am not sure...

the first thing to do, if you haven't already done so, is to have your name and address added to the new address list maintained by Maine Family. you have to contact them to be invited to the list and they will send you an email or message. then it is just a matter of if your name is chosen. i don't know the criteria. maybe a nice person who contributes to the community???? lara
