So sorry to here.
good news is i sold three of the tranquilities as well as several other coins.
well, i guess that is good news. only the two "light" left. the gold and the rhodium. those are without a doubt my favorites as they were never reminted, along with the trickster which was also never reminted. so if those don't sell i won't be terribly upset. :-)

How do you get dumped as a freelancer? Isn't that like breaking up when you're single? Or being fired when you're unemployed? How rude! Best wishes selling coins.
i know! it isn't the dumping so much as the lack of honest response why. i was freelancing for a company for whom i used to work full-time. it was great extra money for a person on a fixed income.
but...sold three of the small coins this morning...

i have reduced the prices of my coins for sale on my cointracking list. at first i was selling so i could buy a new lens, but the good news is i don't have to buy that lens any longer.
the bad news is i was dumped as a freelancer so i don't need the lens.
still have to sell the coins though, now more than ever. i think coin collecting is just not in the cards for me.

If I understood you right, it´s got a tracking number...
Wouldn´s it show the name if you just type it in the system of GS and see which error it tells you? If I recall it right it will say : This XXX- Geocoin has not been activated yet. Or sth like this.
i mentioned the name above. "cache marks" and that is what it is listed as on cointracking so i am going with that. :-)

Funny.... my activated coins in the drawer are getting more hits than the ones I released. It's no fun having to delete logs.
i deleted several pages of virtual logs - a couple of folks were quite upset and wrote me angry letters. i asked if they had actually seen the coins and if so i would be happy to let them log them again.
it's funny, i never did hear back from anyone.

Yes a pic would help because I am curious. lol But a quick way to find it is to type in the tracking number as if you are going to activate it and it will show the name and the icon if any before asking for the activation code.
the fastest way would have been to look at the coin - duh, pretty muchsays right on it what its name is. cache marks.

what was the name of the coin that was a big gold G logo?
there was a mint error with extra enamels on the back that was shipped with the regular coin. they had duplicate numbers so the error coin wasn't supposed to be activated if they were separated.
i have one of the mint error coins - beautiful - but can't figure out the name.
would a photo help?

Finding unactivated coins is very rare but the only way for it to be a gift is if the giver left instructions on how to activate it....
i've dropped coins without instructions on how to activate it. didn't know i had to.
usually i write a note that says it's a gift free to keep but trade fairly. although i know most people do not carry swag of equal value to a geocoin.

You can drive yourself nuts over a $10 trinket. Sadly, all you can do is wait until they discover the coin again or someone they know does and decides to put it back into circulation. And hope after they do that the cache they drop it into isn't muggled.
The first rule about releasing coins is "Never leave in the woods something you cherish or don't wish to lose."

Hello, I don't know if this topic is right placed here, but I have a question. Our geocoin is in the hands of someone else since August 2013. We wrote him/her some messages but no reaction... What else can we do in such a case?
if you really want to be persistent you can post a log on the cache page the coin is missing and so and so has it. or you can look at the logs to see if there was someone else caching with the person who has your coin and write them.
personally i would be very persistent and post often on the log if the cacher was still involved in the sport. name them. maybe you can shame them into returned your coin. if they have caches you can also post there. the log will most likely be deleted but at least you are making yourself heard.
if they aren't in caching any longer still try to get ahold of caching buddies or friends who can convey a message.
the coin might be lost but the cacher at least owes an explanation.
it all depends on how far you want to take it.

i shipped a coin to germany today - it costs $9.45 cents. that's about the cost of the coin. probably not worth it unless you REALLY want the coin.

the last geocoin. i had bought this coin right before i decided to quit collecting so it was rather bittersweet when it arrived from germany. the last coin. :-(
but now it is for sale. $35 with shipping/tracking. that is almost what i paid for it originally so not a total loss.
