  1. To load the latest or any update you want to, all you need to do is drag that file to the "UPDATER.EXE". I.E. drag "015501000208.rgn" for 2.08. If you want to go back to 2.07 drag "015501000207.RGN" to the updater. I keep all the updates in the same file, and keep them all just incase I have to revert back to an old one.
  2. If you enter too many characters all it does is cut off the ending of the text in one of the orientations. I don't remember if it was landscape or portrait. (GPS being vertical or horizontal, "push and hold page") I did the same, it was fine one way but the text was cut off the other. 3. I don’t know where the highest density of caches is, but check out the Profile for BruceS, because I think he knows.

  5. I customized the WARNING screen on my GPS V to my name, phone number, E-mail address and a note saying reward when returned. The program that you can do this at is called MeMap, it is free at MeMap It was made for Garmin eMap GPS receiver, but it works on the V. It is really a neat program! 7. As of right now my "under where" cache seeps about 6 oz. of water, which is less then 1" in the bottom. To see a picture of the cache check it out HERE. The test plug I am using is all plastic and rubber, if I can find a metal one it might stop the leakage. The buoyancy is not a problem to return it to the anchor, it is very easy to take back down.

  9. I wonder how old this Bench Mark is. http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=NG0265 The light house was built in 1866.
  10. There was one marker marked as Marker Type: vertical control disk Setting: massive retaining walls Stability: Probably hold position/elevation well. This is the page http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=NG0804 It sure seems as though it should be an easy one, but I couldn't find it. Sounds like you’re in the right neighborhood.
  11. Yes, I think when you post a cache you are the first to watch it. When I posted all my cache's there was 1 watching. Shortly after there were 2 watching. I was just wondering who was interested in my cache. Man if you want people to watch your cache just post a question like this and stand back and watch the watchers line up.

  14. Browse for the file you want to change. (Mine was 015501000204.rgn) After you search for WARNING (This is case sensitive) and replace it with OWNER click exit, then yes to save. Open MeMap again and search for Do not (This is case sensitive) then replace with your info. Then exit and yes to save. I never saw anything in the preview window. Drag the 015501000204.rgn file to the UPDATER.EXE icon to open the installer with the changed file. Then install as usual.

  19. I have had exceptional directions in Milwaukee. The only problem I had was once when a cache was only 100 yards away from the freeway, it wanted me to stop on the freeway. Other than that it has been great. I don't know Milwaukee very well, and I always ended up where I needed to be.

  22. I had knee surgery a few months back so a walking stick comes in handy. While on a cache near a pond I noted there were a lot of trees chewed down by a beaver. I found the perfect walking stick that the beaver had left for me. It was the perfect length and had the bark chewed off. It also had quite a few branches coming off it the beaver generously chewed off for me. It has a bunch of bends in it, so is not straight but gives it caricature.
  23. The conditioning function removes the battery's memory causing the battery to hold a better charge. Not in technical terms but that is what it does in short.
  24. I am having problems with the latest Easy GPS opening a file. Some files open fine others won't open. There are no error messages it just don't open. They will open with 1.1.7.0 though.
