  1. Container full of goodies, open, swap) replace, move on. No, I can see how that wouldnt work.
  2. Pointless but I guess that 'dem the rules'
  3. If they choose not to sign the log, then that is up to them. If they want to manipulate their own stats, again, that is up to them. I dont care if you have 1 or 1 million finds, I only worry about what I have. For that reason, I never sign Nanos or anything that looks wet or dirty as I just CBA. I think the 'need' to sign is strong. Many people drop off log books in my larger caches, simply so they can sign something
  4. Is it neccersary to include a logbook or logsheet in your cache? I have a few caches out there and nanos and micros aside, I dont like to put in a log, because to be honest it; a) It gets in the way I will never read it c) It will eventually require replacement. The logs I have had to replace so far simply get put in the bin without a second thought.
  5. I use Cachesense on my Bold 9780, although I never use the Radar, I just dont trust it. Try using the Compass instead, I have found all my caches via this method. With a GPS device (I have an Etrex H) you can simply enter the Co-Ordinates for the cache you are after and just follow the arrow to the site. So in answer to your question, yes it can be very easy or with a few tweaks and use of different pieces of software you can load multiple caches in one go.
  6. I dont use a Map, never have. You dont say what phone you are using, I guess it doesnt matter too much but it may help. I just follow the arrow if I fancy doing a cache or two. I enjoy the fun of getting there as much as I do finding it. Ive never understood those who do too much ground work before they set off. Just get up and off you go!
  7. I'd like to know the same. More bad planning by GC.com
  8. Cannot get my picture to work for some reason! Odd
  9. On a trip to 'Below Above - Multi 1' = http://coord.info/GC2GW7W
  10. Fujitsu Loox 720 on Ebay - £70 16 gb CF card - £20 Bluetooth GPS - £10 You can also get extra batteries for the Loox on Ebay. My Copilot GPS lasts 13 hours. I doubt if you could actually find anything better, even spending five times as much. Against a Garmin with a years warrenty, batteries that last 24hrs+ for half the price? The mind boggles.
  11. I use a Garmin Etrex H alongside my Blackberry. I preload the Garmin and only whip the BB out _if_ I need to use the hint. So I am paperless on my travels and only carry the two items that most of us would have with us anyway. Around the £60 mark.
  12. Unless you regularly call overseas, I am perplexed as to why people bother to have home telephones any more. I have not had one for eight years now due to the cost of having a mobile and the fact it's so cheap.
  13. What breach? Lol Item goes missing, video is watched. No problem.
  14. If you don't answer the call on holiday, then there is no charge as there is no connection. So, you don't need to forward it to VM. I have a Blackberry and simply turn off Data, to enable me to have a phone and a GPS
  15. So everybody should solve puzzles, find multis should they. Should every one who sets caches find them. Total and utter nonsense. Tired?
  16. Im glad my comments provoked a lively debate.
  17. Couple of people found my caches over the past few days. Some with other 10000 finds but nothing hidden themselves Not really fair that is it? What percentage of your finds, should you then go and hide yourself? 1% or perhaps 5%, just to keep it going and to put something back? Or are 'placers' and 'finders' different breeds?
  18. All we really want to know is, has it bitten anyone?
  19. Cache sense is defo the way forward. Very very accurate on my 9780.
  20. I have access to regular caching in 2 parts of the country, Cambridge and Reading and it amazes me how different caching is undertaken dependant on where in the country you are. For example, a friend got a 'go-live' email yesterday evening at 18:33 and was at the GZ in Southampton, signing the log by 18:45. A couple of minutes later 3 other caching parties showed up, looking for the FTF. Zoom over to Cambridge and I have a cache that has sat for 5 days with only three DNFs and a complaint that 'its too hard to get to' - (its a 4/4 and my 5yr old daughter came with me to set it!) Are FTFs a big thing in your part of the country? In Reading, they seem to last an hour. In Southampton, its 15 minutes but seemingly, in Cambridge/Suffolk its days!
  21. Can tether with my Blackberry Bold for free with Orange and the battery lasts for a full 12hrs caching. It's the way.
  22. The fact that you call it an Ammo 'Can' and suggest a £4 price, leads me to believe you have been reading posts from our US cousins. Average price for an Ammo 'Box' is indeed £8 from Ebay. At least, thats what I pay for mine.
  23. I would suggest that 99% of caches placed on public property do not have permission. When will you be archiving them?
  24. Check the guidelines. Permission is required for all caches. It can take ages to get the necessary permission, but if you've found the ideal place to hide a cache then you'll want to reserve the location. Some multi- and puzzle caches take people ages to set up, if a particular location is suddenly not available it may require reworking of the whole cache, indeed it may mean the whole thing is not viable. Can you send me the link to that part of the guidelines please? I have had permission for just one of my caches and I cannot beleive for one minute that ALL have permission granted by one person or another.
