  1. I think the 2005 Texas Coin is still being sold.
  2. Yes, we're aware the bridge was burned. It's sad that someone would destroy something as rare as a covered bridge. The same thing happened in Madison County Iowa- someone burned the only bridge you could still drive through!
  3. UtahBill and Sir Gerald are added.
  4. Thanks Willcall. GrizzFlyer is added to the list for 5.
  5. Aaron Charles is moving its HQ to North Carolina so their site is down until mid-May.
  6. KVCoins Aaron Charles Productions Pressed Metal Alaska Mint Coinsforanything D&RMilitary etc.
  7. Outdoorlady79 is in for 3. Geozuk is in for 10. To answer your question Geozuk, Rupert2 and myself discussed some changes to the reverse last night. We should have a final design soon. We'll post it in a new thread in the Travel Bug Forum. It should take about a week from us submitting the design to a company until we have the final artwork for the dies.
  8. Terrible T's - 3 DLiming - 5 (already listed) You both are added to the list!
  9. Your coin would be the first personal coin in our collection.
  10. Yup. Sorry, Defender, I'm with Pasha on this one. As a former Marine, Allanon's post doesn't bother me at all. I've had plenty of military colleagues whom I wouldn't trust to properly tie a shoelace, let alone to protect my life. I'm so sorry I offended the "vets" That was not my intention, it was to simply say that not trading a geo-coin has nothing to do with someones ability to defend this nation or its people, but I will keep you guys in mind the next time I stick up for the military. Hi Defender1, I hear what you are saying, but Allanon was taking a swipe at the military, or anyone, other than a single individual. I believe this situation is solely about how one person conducts himself in trading with others. Nobody here is bashing the military at all.
  11. Available for trade: 2005 Great Basin and Eastern Sierra Rally 2005 Calgary 2005 Canada (trackable) 2005 Texas (trackable) 2005 Michigan (trackable) Looking for older coins. Email me.
  12. 501 Gang, you're on the list.
  13. I've been working on the Indiana coin. In the process I have looked at a few sites and gotten a couple of quotes. As I recall, Pressed Metal quoted $360 for dies plus coin costs. Aaron Charles was 200-300 for dies. 198 for two-sided 2-D dies, and upwards of 300 for two-sided 3-D coins. Right now, that site is down because the company is moving. Coins for Anything charges $200 for 2-sided 2-D or 3-D coins.
  14. Getting worse has to do with the amount of caching in warmer weather.
  15. TPTB- the powers that be- ie Jeremy and the rest of the Groundspeak Crew.
  16. Hi all, Sunday afternoons get slow here. As the weather warms up, Saturday afternoons get slow as well. Cachers are checking in and logging like mad on the weekends. Sizing for webtraffic is more difficult than for telecommunication systems. With a phone system, you size for P01, or P001 grade of service (block 1%, .1%, etc) of the peak hour/peak day calls. The web is different- people are uploading logs and photos, downloading cache pages and photos, HANGING out in the forums, and etc. It's all bandwidth intensive, not easy to predict, and expensive. Tracy and I dropped $30 for the year, but that doesn't cover much of anything. The folks here have done a great job at keeping Jeremy's promise of keeping the basic services of this site available, for free, while introducing new features. Frankly, the slow times on Sundays are annoying, but as Kealia mentioned, other sites get slow too. If TPTB are working on it, I willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and time to fix it.
  17. Same here, I've been finding a lot of pictures, but few that look like they could be converted into something usable. How about the images on this site? Several mints can "embed" images to coins. KV Coins is one of them, and the company that did the Idaho coins can. Whoever they are.... Thanks. I knew Aarons Charles (aka CoinsandPins.com- Idaho coin minter) could imbed images, but I missed that KVCoins could do it. We are working on some ideas for line drawings, but if that falls through, we'll head down the path of imbedding a picture. Cost-wise, we'd be looking at adding about another 1.25- 1.45/coin. I just looked at the KVCoins site, and 1.25/coin is their cost. If we use a picture, we will have to add a coating to protect it.

  19. I've been looking for bridges for the coin. Here are some images: Bridgeton Brownsville Chapel Any thoughts?
  20. We haven't had any real angst in a while. Slow servers on Sunday is a tradition here. Like Carleen, your finds won't disappear if they aren't logged on Sunday.
  21. Tom n Chris and Patudles are down for three each.
  22. Yes, you are still on the list.
  23. In some respects, TNLNSL is a good thing. We are about to place three themed caches. In the past, cache owners have sometimes complained about other cachers not respecting and sticking with the themes of their caches. Actually, I'd rather have someone TNLNSL if they cannot/will not support the theme of the cache. One of our themes cost us about $20, and the other two were over $50 each.
