  1. My premium membership will expire in a couple of weeks and I've attempted to renew it 3 separate times by submitting my credit card number, but I don't get any response or receipt. My profile page continues to show my renewal date as 8/8/09. I've never had this problem before and have been unable to get a reply from Groundspeak regarding it. What is going on?
  2. Hello~ I just talked to a guy yesterday about the location of the crash site because we're going up to camp in the area next weekend. He took a scout troop there a while ago and found it. Here's the coords he gave me. Hope this helps. Sierra Tomb Raiders Right Wing (the largest section): N 38 degrees 54.950' W 120 degrees 19.802' Left Wing: N 38 degrees 55.007' W 120 degrees 19.675' Tail Section: N 38 degrees 54.798' W 120 degrees 19.768'
  3. Thanks for the suggestion. We'll be sure to check out the thread. Sierra Tomb Raiders
  4. Ok, I just combined both of your suggestions and came up with a great way to run my PQ's. I took the GC # of a cache near our hotel and went out 30 km and voila... I got my PQ! Thanks so much for your help and hope to meet some of you guys while we're exploring your great country. Any suggestions for some of your favorite caches would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. 5. Hi, Thats right the Geocaching sites doesn't support New Zealand post codes. To get most of Auckland create a PQ from S 36°52.971 E 174°45.259, and set its distance in km to 30. This PQ would cover all of Auckland. You can also seach for caches by addresses in New Zealand, for example your hotel address. Hope that helps....Gary Thanks Gary, I'll give it a try and see how it comes out.
  6. Hello~ We'll be visiting NZ in September and I was wondering if anyone can give me some help with running Pocket Queries. In the US I use the zip code of the place I'll be visiting but I don't think New Zealand has zip codes so I was wondering if someone could give me an idea on how they set up their PQ for a specific area such as Auckland. Thanks for any help you can give me and we're looking forward to visiting your beautiful country. Sierra Tomb Raiders
  7. That's too funny but it would probably get me thrown in the klink here in Arkansas. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  8. Well, I tried it again this morning... I walked through the entire sequence of re-plugging my cable into the USB port and saving my file to the hard drive. Lo and behold, it was saved as an *.imi file and my problem was over. Thanks for the input, because I believe everything you suggested was tried by me, but did not work earlier. Maybe my cable was just not as secure as I thought, although I was able to save my waypoints for some caching yesterday with that same hookup. Go figure
  9. I did enter the correct serial number, but you're right. Even though I've entered it, it won't establish communication with my GPS. At one time it was OK. I've even reinstalled MapSend, but my Explorist 500 is not listed. So what should I do to get the correct GPS?
  10. http://www.magellangps.com/assets/manuals/...pMSGuide_EN.pdf pages 3, 4, 5, and 6. Thanks, but I've been following those exact pages in my manual with no luck. Trust me - I went there first before I posted the problem. Has anyone seen a similar problem?
  11. I have an Explorist 500 GPS and MapSend Topo 3D USA software. I've prepared and stored map regions on my hard drive. I've use Magellan Conversion Manager to continue the download process. Problem is that when I get to the map region selection screen, there's no map region I've identified from the stored regions. I see that the region is stored in the hard drive as an *.img file, but the MapSend instructions state it should be saved as a *.imi file. Funny thing is, I've previously converted and transferred one map region using their instructions and don't know how it got converted when these others can't. I need these maps for a trip I'm taking in a week and don't think I'll get a response from the Magellan support group in time. Can anyone help?
  12. Yep, just a terrible day for caching 80 plus degrees and on vacation in north eastern Arkansas. We'll return to snowy northern Ca. on Tuesday afternoon
  13. I use all three items you mentioned in your post. It just takes patience and practice. Here's a great article if you'd like to read a little more about it. http://65.34.18.106/content.php?article.15
