    stuck

mine has been stuck in germany for a few years now. it keeps getting logged as found but no one will respond to anything I say. how do I find out who has it now and where it is? there should be a way to get people to be considerate
  3. how long should I let my trackable be missing before I replace it?
  4. hello. I have been trying real hard for a long time now to find one auto trackable and recently another one. I would be able to find the latter one if the pic I took wasnt blurry. If anyone can help me.... at least give me clues so that I can figure them out, I would be eternally grateful. They are both in Nevada.. I do have the license plates on them but I wont post them here. one is a silver GMC truck.. This is the one that I took the picture of the cling came out blurry. The other is on a blue Hyundai. It only has about half of the info.... When I posted elsewhere in the forums someone told me that They have one with no tracking code displayed so you have to figure it out to log it. Again, I will not post the license plate # for security reasons. Someone did tell me to come here if since I have vehicle descriptions. I just dont know how much to post here on a public forum. Can anyone help me?
  5. *blushes* where are the regional forums? nevermind
  6. I have seen 2 different travel bugs on automobiles that I took pics of.... one is blurry to see the info and the other doesnt have the # on the decal. Is there any way that I can find out their info to log them?
  7. spoke too soon. Its not working anymore.... again
  8. getting that response, I went to check. it seems to be fine now. Good timing too... I was planning on looking at some for this afternoon
  9. I was looking at my own cache info and noticed that a TB that was picked up almost 2 months ago is still listed in my cache's inventory. Should I do something about it or figure that it isnt my problem so leave well enough alone? I want to to the right thing but I dont want to come off as an annoying pest either
  10. I am having the same problem... on my laptop AND on my phone. It has nothing to do with them, I have checked. Something is wrong with the site.
  11. I saw a TB on a vehicle the other day that did not have the trackable number on it. Well it looked like it was missing the second half or so. Is there a way to see find it other than possibly scrolling thru all the pages of tb pictures? It says TAGA and that is it.
  12. going by answers that I have had.... I would say that it would be best to contact the bug owner and see what their own preferences are. I myself dont like that, from my experiences... but a lot of people are ok with that
  13. oh yeah.... if someone had my tb and contacted me (which has happened) to say that it will be a bit longer, but it is because they will be getting it closer to the goal or something, then yeah that would be great! I think I have even done that. Kind of like, I guess it is ok but I dont like the concept of handing a tb to other people, but if who picked it up knew they couldnt get it closer to the goal but a fellow cacher friend of theirs would, then by all means. But if a cacher even wants to deal with tbs in the first place, they should know that they will need to go and check the goal, if it has any, and comply. If you dont think you could, dont pick it up!
  14. lol yeah... plus I may be a little crazy... it's more like my baby haha
  15. We all get a little crazy over our first bug. I wouldnt worry
  16. ok nevermind. I just wanted to be sure that I should not be reported.
  17. well I assume it at least is supposed to be logged when handed over right? it was handed several times. regarless that isnt even the issue. I just dont want to be reported for just asking if someone has my tb in their possession. I cant seem to find other info on contacting them btw
  18. there is a lot more too it that what you see on the TBs page. But I mainly want to be sure that there is no reason for me to be reported. A TB is to travel and be placed in caches. not handed from person to person. And all I did was ask if they had it still because if not I may have to consider it missing. I dont see anything wrong with that
  19. I simply contacted the last person who had it to ask if they had it in their possession. Since they had it last, I do not see a problem with me asking them. their response was - your tb was dropped at the now archived cache and picked up by another cacher who sadly had two deaths in her family and she wl move your tb when she can. Please do not bother me again or I will report you. Now obviously I am very saddened by the person having the deaths in their family. They obviously need to grieve. But no one told me that me that. The person who owns the cache sent me a message saying that my TB wasnt in the cache that it is supposed to be in. But he said that they are on vacation and will ask them when they get back. I dont think that I should be reported for trying to find out where my tb is, when it has been in the hands of people who cannot comply to rules. Oh and BTW the person who sadly had the death in their family is NOT the person who is logged as having it in their posession. man I hope that makes sence
  20. ok I have tried type out an explanation.... there is way too much info lol
  21. ok I have NO idea where to put this or where to look to see if anyone already mentioned something like this. I want to know opinions.... preferably by someone who REALLY knows. ok... a cacher picked up my trackable. After holding on to it for much longer than the owner requested, and HANDING it to people instead of placing it, they finally drop it off. For reason not going to be mentioned, the owner of that cache had their cache archived and were kind enough to inform me that it was not there. Turns out the cacher who placed it there had picked it back up. Didnt log. I sent a message to see if they had it in their possession. Then I was threatened to be reported. Please let me know if I am seeing this wrong, but it looks like it should be them who ought to be reported for not complying... not me for trying to find out where my TB is.
  22. Travel Bug Faq -- scroll down -- " Is there any Travel Bug etiquette? Use the Golden Rule when you find a Travel Bug. Most owners would rather see their Travel Bug do a lot of travelling, so try not to hold on to a Travel Bug for too long. If you plan on holding onto the bug for more than 2 weeks, make sure to send a courtesy email to the owner letting them know. " just showing you where it says and btw... I am fine with people hanging on to it for longer because it has a goal and maybe 3 weeks after they pick it up, they know they will be able to get it to, or at least closer to the goal.... but it does say to contact the owner if it will be longer. I even have that on the TBs page.
