  1. This cache is one of those irony caches. The container is a UPS candy mint tin near a FedEx Kinko's. The container is probably somewhat rare. The cache is called What Can Brown Do For You Today?
  2. Terminal of the Insane Check out the Oct 23-24 logs.
  3. Kind of an interesting question, I put out one of my puzzle caches Head, Fingers, Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes for a GW4 cache run that I hosted and let the folks on the run find it before it post to gc.com. Is FTF still open on this? I'll have to watch this thread.
  4. Let's try to keep this as close to the topic as possible, use the other threads if needed to comment on the other hot issues. Is/are there any circumstances that would allow this to happen? Can a container be the logbook? I've heard of these type of micros but have never found one myself. It is basically a sheet magnet with white paint on one side. The white painted side serves as the logbook. What if the is a malfunction with the container and then a email is sent to the cache owner(s)? What if a container is cross-threaded, rusted, pinched, or damaged and cannot be opened by hand.
  5. Okay, here is another bit of info. This darth_maul_3 user is not only signing the outside of the containers as DRR but at later dates as HCT. I have deleted one of their log where HCT signed the outside of my cache. Log as darth_maul_3 as HCT May 23 by darth_maul_3 (2107 found) 2006-05-22 - 22:36 Found this fine cache on a run with the Team HCT (Hanseatic Cache Team) THX for Cache 1764 darthi Log as darth_maul_3 as DRR May 20 by darth_maul_3 (2107 found) Found this Cache as Part of the 24 Hour Recordrun. Thanks for these great Caches that made the Recordrun possible. We found 312 Caches in these 24 Hours and had over 40 DNFs The Team consisted of: Ed, The AlabamaRambler (AKA NatureFish) Max, Poppy of Nonnypoppy Mike from Cache&Keri Mike, Golf from GolfNutz Roland, darth_maul_3 Tammo, Spuchtfink Michael, M.Zielinski Carsten, geoPirat Thanks to all from the team, you did a great job all the time. All caches were signed DRR (Dallas Record Run) for the team. Greetings from germany and to germany. darthi
  6. So that container couldn't be retrieved? yes....it appears the cache is on a guardrail, that makes it VERY difficult to retrieve and open, yup best course of action here was signing the container And they signed it so well, such nice handwriting in nice, thick black letters, yeah that doesn't make that container obvious at all... thanks for posting the pic, I'll say it again these guys should be ashamed It wasn't on a guardrail, it was on a lightpole and electric box combo. I retrieved it and signed the logbook.
  7. Wait, were both these logs on the same cache? Nope, different caches.

  9. Out caching today and had just enough batteries to snap a pic of this cache. It was real easy to find. This cache is one of those irony caches. The container is a UPS candy mint tin near a FedEx Kinko's. The container is probably somewhat rare. The cache is called What Can Brown Do For You Today?
  10. I hope you notified the owner so he can repair the vandalism. I talked with them at GW4 and also posted it in the find log. This cache is one of those irony caches. The container is a UPS candy mint tin near a FedEx Kinko's. The container is probably somewhat rare. The cache is called What Can Brown Do For You Today?

  12. I would remove all pics of yourself in your galley and on your profile page. You may also consider removing the "girl" on your name. I would also report the emails to Groundspeak. There are some sick people out there.
  13. I think the honorable thing to do would be renounce the claim to the record and let the prior record stand. It would be in the best interest of the geocaching community as a whole for now and into the future. Doing this will set precedence and start laying the groundwork for a firm set of rules for future cache runs.
  14. If you notice on the pic of the log for Sprinkler's Doom cache there are non-damp spots that are able to be signed.
  15. Yes the log was DAMP but it was still able to be signed. So the log was deleted.
  16. I've posted on the GW4 web site and it has seen little action. While out at GW4 I talked with a lot of folks and nobody seemed to know about what happened. It was kind of sad to see everyone going up and shaking the DRR teams' hands and congratulating them for a job well done when they didn't know the story behind the event.
  17. How can they decide on other cache owners' caches that there is no harm to stealth factor of the cache? IMHO that is ONLY the call of the cache owner.
  18. On my Sprinklers Doom (GCPJ14) cache I had to delete the logs. One was from a team that did not sign the log and claimed a find, one was from an individual in town for business that again didn't sign the log, and the others were from members of the team that signed the container. However on my Keller's Donation (GCPK78) cache a team signed the logbook. See pics of the logbook.
  19. Perhaps AlabamaRambler or geoPirate will post their side of this issue. I would also like to hear there side.
  20. Teams are in the area attempting to break the record for the number of caches found in a 24 hour period. They are signing DRR in Sharpie on the outside of containers. No date, just DRR.
  21. What is your general thoughts on teams or individuals signing the outside of the container rather than taking the time to open the container and signing the logbook. Yes, the contain could be opened and did have a logbook enclosed. I have seen a lot of these containers signed this week in DFW area (for GW4) where teams have been running.
  22. Came upon some by the Light Giants cache in Keller, TX. The were going at it in the picnic shelter
