  1. don't worry -I've found out how to do it.......Just go to your travel bugs, click on the one you want and then choose the last option!
  2. Sorry if this has been asked before ( I would have searched for previous posts, but searching seems to be down at the moment),but does anyone know how to plot the progress of their travel bugs on google earth? Thanks for any help
  3. I'm not far from Inverness if thats any help....fell free to post them to me if you like!
  4. After using the excellent GUK site for a while and having a holiday in Burgundy coming up soon,I wondered if anyone knew of a site similar to GUK? I know of Buxleys waypoints (another good site) but was looking for something country specific... Any ideas or pointers would be very welcome Happy caching found this on google: http://christian.villemin.club.fr/beta/_index.php Anymore would be welcome!
  5. How hard can it be to just add compliments and congrats to the pinned topic? I for one am a bit tired of seeing endless congratulations on *** caches found. Personally, finding 1 cache is as good as finding 150! Patting people on the back for finding caches isnt what it's about imho.....
  6. Could anyone tell me how to setup GSAK so that when it does an export to a memory map file it gives the goecaching icons? Thanks
  7. As far as I remember, the Clachaig Inn has internet access (excellent food and beer too!)
  8. I'm getting it too...Acount suspended... Hopefully it will be back up soon.
  9. Just flicking through and came across this thread - just incase you have a burning desire to do something for breast cancer, you could always partake in the annual moonwalk - in London May/June, as long as you are happy to wear a bra and walk 26 miles starting at midnight this race does accept men!!!! There must me loads of caches dotted round the route, so you could kill two birds with one stone - well as long as they are not the birds wearing bras!!!! Sara & I completed this years moonwalk and raised quite a bit... And before anyone asks-yes I did do it in a bra! All 26 miles.... A really good event that I would recomend to anyone. It was the best fun that I've had in a long while.I don't know why,but being one of only 1000 men in a crowd of 14000 women really makes you popular with the women-especially if you are wearing a fluffy pink bra with matching tiara.............. (didn't get to do any caches though!)
  10. how do I get Geocaching.com involved? Although my TB is almost certainly gone,I would like to prevent this user from doing it again to someone.
  11. Hi all, our travel bug (Bob the bug) has been picked up by a user called thx4sht.The user name sounds a bit suspicious to us to say the least! The cache it was retrieved from was GCN7CG Clover Creek In My Backyard. According to their stats, they have only logged one cache on April 24th 2005 (where our bug was) but have been a member since 10th Sept 2004. Would anybody know this user? If they do could they please ask them to move our little fellow on please?I strongly suspect that our TB has been destroyed/stolen,but it's worth a chance..... Thanks, thunderbird30 (Jon & Sara) Scotland
  12. An excellent bit of work teasel...Now this is asking a bit much I know, but have you considered doing the rest of the motorways? There aren't that many up here near Inverness, but it would be handy on my trips 'down south'!!!
  13. Thanks for the help. All I need now is for the person concerned to reply and give me the go ahead!
  14. Does anyone have any examples of introductory letters that I could send to an organisation that owns land where I would like to place a cache please? I'd like to explain what caching is about and what impact it would have on the area. What do other cachers include in their letters/emails? Thanks
  15. I've been persuaded to do the 2005 Moonwalk in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer (http://www.walkthewalk.org/) . I'll be walking 26 miles through London starting at 2330.Although I would love to do some caching on the way,I somehow think that they maybe a few other people around at the time! I'm trying to raise as much as possible for this very worthwhile cause and wondered if anyone would like to help by sponsoring me. In the old days, this would mean forms, paperwork etc,but thankfully now we have the web,it's possible to donate securely on line at a website that is endorsed by my chosen charity. The website is: https://www.bmycharity.com/tattoosandtiaras If breaks any forum rules, please accept my apologies. Thanks, thunderbird30 (Jon & Sara)
  16. whoops! Sorry..I've got a Magellan Platinum..
  17. I'm trying to do an export of my GSAK caches using file/export/memory map but i'd like the icons that are used on the GC.com website for different cache types. Does anyone know how to do this please? Thanks
  18. I'm trying to do an export of my GSAK caches using file/export/memory map but i'd like the icons that are used on the GC.com website for different cache types. Does anyone know how to do this please? Thanks
  19. Well done ! Hopefully Sara & I can get to 200 before too long! See you at the 3rd Annual cache Bash...
  20. The best thing to do is to view this post : http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...l=custom+export It's where I found out what to do...
  21. Using GSAK (great bit of kit!) I've done a custom export so that I can see the caches in memory map. This is great,as whenever I double click on a cache item in MM,the geocaching page for the corresponding cache web page opens. My question is this: Why does geocaching think that I've logged in as geocacheuk when I do this? This causes a problem for me as i cannot download gpx files unless I log out and then log in as myself. Any help would be gratefully received! Additional! *When I double click on an icon that already has data for it,the gc.com webpage says that I'm logged on as myself.Whenever I double click on an icon that has no data (i.e a question mark),gc.com assumes that I'm geocacheuk!*
  22. I've not done so on purpose! It should be set as wgs84 i think?
  23. This has probably (i hope) happened to a few others, but recently we dont seem to be able to find any caches that we visit. We get the coords spot on but still can't seem to find the elusive spot.. Some of the caches are hidden amongst trees (not good for signal) or hidden with no clues for people like us that have problems! It's enough to want to give up caching for a while! Especially when other folks seem to find the same caches the day after we have been there! At one point,we even thought the gps was playing up! Hopefully our run of bad luck will soon end..........
  24. I agree with Sue & Bernie too.....the congratulations posts should be placed in the correct forum!
