  1. Just wondering if anyone here is from Northern Alberta? I live in the extreme far Northwest corner of Alberta and would like to find some people who are also into this Geocache/GPS thing. Let me know if you are out there.

You think that caches are rare in your parts? Huh? I just started with geocaching and am already starting to think that it will be a very short lived part of my life. There is only one cache even remotely close to me and that one is located at least an hour and a half drive south. I live in La Crete, Alberta; extremely remote, but would make for some beautiful cache locations. I am planning to place on myself soon, to see who might come across is and maybe make some connections that way.
  3. What program did you use to load the maps onto your receiver?
  4. I agree to a certain extent. I was mainly taking issue with the use of the word only. Interestingly enough, that's what got me started making maps for my GPSRs--not enough detail on the topo maps from MapSource. Rich Owings www.MakeYourOwnMaps.com "We were desert mystics, my friends and I, pouring over our maps as others do their holy books." - Edward Abbey So, being what one user called a Newbie, is making my own maps for Magellan something I should even consider? I am very computer literate and feel I could take on the challenge, but is it extremely time consuming? Where did you say I could get the Moblie Mapper Software?
  5. I have read all these things about creating your own maps for Garmin GPS units, but can this be done with a Magellan. I recently purchased a SporTrak Pro and am very happy with it, however, having this capability would be very nice. I know it wouldn't be a Magellan product that would do this, but does anyone out there have any ideas or experience doing this?
