Oh lucky you, Salt lake is an awesome city... I spent about 4 months doing some stuff for work in the area and fell in love. I know every sqaure inch of that city from walking it day in and day out, lol. I wish I had been caching at the time.

I go out of my way to place as large of a cache as I can in a given area. Yes, I have some micro's, but I also have a 5 gallon bucket. I've started getting frustrated with these little hides because they often have little thought put into their location and are almost never maintained 9wet/ full logs, etc).

I leave dollar coins and $2 bills as FTF prizes.

I recently hid a 5 gallon bucket close to a very popular destination for people from all over the country. I placed a full size composition notebook in there as the logbook in the hope that it will collect a large variety of notes and stories. I plan to keep it once it is filled up!

Use some spy tricks and dress the part. When I hid a cache recently, I threw on a bright orange vest and a camo hat and acted like I was a city worker installing a new electrical box on a telephone pole. I had permission from the nearby business, but I didn't want everyone else to see some guy doing something weird, so I played the part.

I have a couple of coins that I am not putting into circulation, but simply want to place in my "collection". I see that I have a collection tab in my profile, but I can not find where to add the items to it. When I go to my coins page, the only option from the drop down are "move to inventory" (they ARE in my inventory...) Mark missing, and recalculate distance. This is annoying because if I have several items that I am carrying cache to cache, I like to mark them as visited. Now I have to make sure not to mark my collection coins as visited. Cliffs: How do I move my coins into my "collection"? Thanks!

I agree that replacing it on the spot is the best practice, but if you are unable to do so this is exactly the meaning of "needs maintenance". Logging is an integral part of caching and if you can't log, why have the cache there?

From what I see, the homepage does allow you to click "find my location"

It has happened to me, as well. I just double checked my settings and the notification seems to be set properly. I use gmail as well. I can't find any blocked emails in the trash or spam box, so I dont know for sure what happened. GC3CH4Z was one that was published yesterday, but I didnt get a notification.
