  1. I have seen the Garmin Quest in action. It has very nice voice prompts and since there is a new Quest2 out, the original Quest is fairly affordable.
  2. I had really hoped there would be more of these when I became a "PM". Are there areas where they are more common? The closest one to me is 45 miles away and there are only 10 within 65 miles.
  3. Anyone know what "Panty Seeds" look like? Maybe someone was planting for next years Panty crop??
  4. The vista has 24 MB of memory (Legend=8) AND the vista has electronic compass / barometer.
  5. I have never done it on public ground, but on private property, I have marked Mushroom Locations with those little flags.
  6. The moment I get "graded" on the D/T ratings, I will argue with every cache owner to make sure they get them EXACTLY right.
  7. Ummm, I may be all wet, but just because that one category can be logged from your living room, doesn't mean that others are that way. There can be photos required to log benchmarks on WM.com, if the category manager places that restriction on the category. Since the category hasn't been created yet, you can make your desires known on the other topic. I can log benchmarks right now without leaving my living room. Would you like to see me do it? I can find some that others have found and type a nice log. There is no photo requirement currently. But, those are my opinions.
  8. Because numbers are our reason for living???
  9. My profile page looks fine, also. "My page" doesn't. "My page" is accessed from the link on the left of the screen. When you go to "my page", there are a bunch of option links on the right. Because of the map, those options are pushed off the right side of the screen. It is like the map has 2" of frame on its right side pushing everything over. I had Jeremy looking at it too on another thread, and then I decided to simply remove the map.
  10. From a couple of days ago: same question
  11. Same here, except I use IE. If Bill Gates wanted us to use different browsers, he would have bundled them with Windows...
  12. Give the little guy a ^5, or a hair-ruffle, or whatever he gets from you from me, ok? He's gonna be a great geocacher with that attitude. I hope he isn't scared of wasps all his life. That can be quite traumatic.
  13. Yep, copied it exactly. It pushes the right hand border of the center "box" to the right about 2" and forces the third column of "stuff" off the monitor. Maybe I just need a bigger monitor.
  14. That's exactly what I do with my seven and ten year old daughters. My wife is too smart. There ain't no getting her out there.
  15. Stunod, have you noticed any formatting problems over at WM.com because of your code above? I had seen your code awhile ago and copied that into my profile. Unfortunately, it caused "my page" to be distorted on WM.com and made it hard to use the new "my page options" to the right of the profile. Once I removed the map, the page fits. Just curious if it causes probles for others.
  16. I think they make some awesome units. Especially when a person takes the price into account. The H20 and Hunt are both very nice. I have always said if they made the Hunt in color, I would own one. It has everything I have ever wanted, except color.
  17. What program are you using to deal with your PQ's? If you are using GSAK, go to Tools=>Options=>General Tab=>Distance Calculations = miles.
  18. One thing that I have noticed is best described by example. There is this locationless cache for Drive-In Movie Theaters. I have a Drive-In about 5 miles from my house. Last night, I planned on taking my family and, in the process, getting a few pictures to log this locationless. There are 1577 visits logged for that cache right now. Is my drive-in already logged? That's a lot of logs to look through, since they can't be searched on GC.com. So, I had to download 3rd party software to skim through the logs to find the drive-in I was planning on logging. It was logged over a year ago. I can't log it again. That's broken. Only one person gets to share their experience of a drive-in that I was at??? That ain't right. With Waymarks, my local Drive-in could have still been logged, but I have the opportunity to: 1. search for it easily on wm.com. (by coordinates) 2. log another visit 3. keep playing the game. Those things didn't work for locationless on GC.com. Once logged, a particular "waymark" was done and any future happenings for it would never be logged. YMMV.
  19. mmmm Squirrel... With Brown Gravy and Biscuits. Dang, I can't wait for fall.
  20. Not quite. They have some limited base maps in them, but you can't add more detailed maps. They also do not connect to a PC for waypoint downloads. They are great little units, but please don't think you are getting a full featured GPS. If you need to stick around $100, look closely at the Garmin Legend. YMMV.
  21. I don't see a difference between waymarks in your example and the existing "locationless caches" at GC.com. I will be logging a Drive-In Movie Theater today that has a really unique Mail box. It was allowed before, it should be allowed now. The only difference is before we couldn't easily add more locationless caches. Now we can add waymark categories, so there is more chance of a place fitting into two. YMMV.
