  1. Hi A while ago, when hitting the car icon, I used to have the choix between all my installed navigation apps. Sometimes I prefer Osmand over Google Maps especially when out of cities. But right now, it necessarily opens Google maps. I have no default nav app, so all other apps, on the same situation, will push the pop-up asking me to choose the navigation app. Geocaching app instead seems to have a link to Google hard-coded. When disabling the ability of Google maps to open compatible links, I can see that hitting the car icon opens Google maps in a Web browser. Could you reverse to the previous situation, just sending the coordinates so that we could choose the most appropriate navigation app? Thanks for your hard work.
  2. I agree with you, and as I said, it would be nice to have it as an option, certainly not imposed. Anyway, as I said, I often write the logs at home on PC, to avoid "easy-peasy" short and normalized logs, so not having a counter is not a big issue.
  3. Hi, I'm happy to use the official app, but one feature is still missing for me: the ability to add automatically a #XXXX counter in the logs, XXXX meaning it's the XXXXth found cache. Because of that, I save empty drafts and log at home on a PC, numbering each log manually. It would be easier if there was an option, in the app, to append such a counter directly in the logs (so it should also work offline, and logs should be numbered chronologically of course). Has this been considered? The maaloo geocaching app I used to use on windows 10 mobile had this nice feature. thank you
  4. Arrgh! I was running a cartridge which requires savegames, it's a reverse cache which gives the distance to the cache every time you use it. The aim is to use it as less a possible. As the app was updated this morning, it lost my saved games. But after having found it and unlocked it, I've now uninstalled totally and reinstalled as requested. Ready for the next cartridge
  5. charlenni and Hide*seek: I'm afraid you are wrong. When you lock the screen when running Drive+, for instance, GPS is not stopped and actually, the voice navigation continues. it depends on the app, if it uses the capabilities offered by the OS to run as a background process. Maaloo geocaching, which is my regular geocaching app, allows that "proximity" alarm (you can set the distance) even when the device is locked. I'm afraid the real issue will be for Mangatome to have to develop for WP8.0 or even better 8.1, to take full advantage of the new features of the OS, but without owning one, which is a big drawback. But this evolution is inescapable: when the new Lumia shipping Denim/WP8.1 GDR1 are released by the end of this month, the proportion of devices running 8.1 will go beyond the tipping point and I guess most of the apps will be updated to 8.1 only versions to, again, take full advantage of the features of 8.1 (so far, we have 8.0 compiled apps that run ALSO on 8.1). So what you are asking is actually possible with WP8.1 (and probably 8.0 as well, as Maaloo geocaching features such a proximity alarm).
  6. Hi, With the latest update, we tried to play a cartridge abroad (http://www.Wherigo.com/cartridge/details.aspx?CGUID=38954f22-df62-49b9-a28d-91823be824aa). Everything went fine but: a) for navigation, of course, without access to the internet, no maps. All WP8.1 devices will get HERE drive+ (and maps) for free, with offline maps. My geocaching app (maaloo http://maaloo7.wordpress.com/) can use the offline HERE maps stored on the device. This would be great to have the same here, because navigating with just an arrow + distance in a city like London is not really practical, the unlock code we got doesn't seem to work. I realised the app never asked me my username; the Wherigo website offers 3 possibilities to unlock a cartridge : 1) upload the saved game. Is it possible with the current app ? 2) unlock code. So it doesn't work 3) unlock code specifiying the username which was used --> is there something I'm missing? Except this, it never crashed or had any defects while playing.
  7. Updated A suggestion: could we validate the "beta disclaimer" once per version? It's a bit annoying to agree with the disclaimer at every launch according to me.
  8. I've tried at 80km the same cartridge. Even with a good accuracy, I don't get the error. However, I get it when I lock the device or switch to another task. This shouldn't happen as it prevents from reading a SMS or check the internet for example.
  9. Thanks for the explanation. We can't return easily to the location of the cache Should I recommend to the owner of the cache to upgrade the cartridge with a more recent version of Urwigo?
  10. Right now, a new game starts seamlessly, asking me to go to la Tour Saint Jean, as it did on the ground. However, when I try to restore an automatic or manual savegame, the simulateur error pops again.
  11. Another feedback, now less related to a specific cartridge. I've loaded my cartridges on onedrive and synced them; they were successfully transfered to my 1020. But it seems the cartridges are displayed horizontally (3 colums x 2 rows for me). According to me, the user should scroll vertically to browse the cartridges, and not horizontally. This because it's too close to a swipe to the left gesture. It's my personal opinion, but a vertical scroll among the cartridges would feel more natural from a WP8 user point of view, don't you think?
  12. Yes, Pocket PC. The other log alluding to that "simulateur" bug is: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=0d345811-2eb3-430b-ab49-cc5e332fd83c
  13. First attempt to use this app: fail We're not sure is it the app or the cartridge : http://www.Wherigo.com/cartridge/details.aspx?CGUID=7758b479-f0e9-4c71-9140-345a4bc6200e We got several times an error, but in French (that's why I suspect the cartrdige) : "Ne pas utiliser un simulateur" (please do not use an emulator). Of course, we weren't. We then had an indication (in English) that the cartridge had requested the game to stop. We haven't been able to restore from saved (or autosaved) games: we bumped into the same error. According to the logs on the Wherigo, a couple of persons got that "simulateur" error (they don't mention their device). I don't know is it the cartridge, or the app which is perceived by the cartridge as being an emulator. Happy to give further details if needed.
  14. Hi Great to discover a beta is being developed; PM sent to Mangatome , Wherigo is missing on my Lumia 1020
  15. Hi, I usually upload field notes generated by SmartGPX (Symbian) through the web GC interface seamlessly. I've even upload 30+ logs when coming back from Finland on the 30th of Aug. However, since yesterday, I'm unable to upload my field notes, as few as 3 caches. I've tried uploading with different browsers under differents OS-s. Could anybody confirm this bug? Thanks M, from H_M
