  1. I use a garmin etrex legend I love it but the antenna is a little more weak than the magellan explorist 200 I used to have. but I love this one because I can connect it to the computer.
  2. i went to the link but it didn't work for me
  3. Actually just this past Saturday I attempted a cache that was in a 7' tall drain pipe. Myself and 3 others were about 3 blocks back in when the water really started rising quickly. Not sure whether it was caused by the rain or something else, but apparently this hadn't happened to anyone else previously. We turned around and started to run out, but by then the water was too high and we ended up getting washed off our feet and literally body surfed most of the 3 blocks out of the pipe into a creek. Was quite an adventure that ruined about $800 worth of PDAs, cameras, and cell phones, and it was quite unnerving while we were floating through this tunnel. Dangerous? Well, yeah. We all ended up battered and bruised a bit, but nothing major. Would I try this one again? Definitely - just not when it was raining. The terrain was labeled as a 4, although most times it's probably closer to a 2. I think we just happened to catch it at a rare 5 star level. So yes, some of us appreciate the "challenging" ones. If they want safe there are plenty of Walmart parking lot hides they can score. Pray for Daylight seeings how I have a huge fear of the water and enclosed places I never would have attempted it... I would have gone into shock if I had been in your shoes being washed down the pipe
  4. the one I found looks a lot like this but I can't find it when i do a search by zip code...is there another way to search for it?
  5. If I weren't so far away I'd attempt Vertigo.
  6. wow, a lot of people have logged it...
  7. OIC. Thank you...benchmarks still kinda confuse but I did see a survey one at a missle silo a few weeks ago. etided to add thanks.
  8. I would tread lightly cause you don't want him retaliating. wait a few more weeks to a month and see what happens.
  9. I have noticed that benchmark finds dont count as a "find" on gc.com total numbers. why is that?
  10. my mom was out with my sister back home hunting for a cache when another family walked up and they helped eachother hunt for a cache. they never did find it but they had a nice visit. This was my moms 3rd solo hunt. I got her hooked but only took her on 4 while she was visiting me.
  11. I would have gone up and introduced my self. it is a great way to meet other people from the area.
  12. this is for sean connery this is Alex sniffing around the yard
  13. that would be fun to go hunt....do you know if it is still there?
  14. I PMed you... you have to save the image to your computer. then upload it in photobucket. if the pic is to big you can edit it in PB.
  15. that one would be perfect for those who are tree climbers!
  16. how do yall train the dogs to snuff out tupperware/film canisters?? I would love to teach jade to sniff it out with me but don't know where to begin.
  17. it seems to me like it is a new mentality. I'm all about adventure and taking risks. I don't mind going after an "extreme" cache but to each his own. and I guess tey don't like the envelope being pushed.
  18. I live in the city. all the caches I have done are in the city. Well, except for the one I did yesterday at an old abandoned zoo/amusment park... being west texas, the only thing I have to worry about is cactus. she does well and when we get home I do a really thorough check for any needles or stickers. edited for spelling...its monday and I had to go to work WAY to early! lol
  19. I have one 6 month old lab that goes with me....she can't sniff out tupperware yet. I use a retractable leash sometimes...most of the time she is off the leash. I'm thinking about getting a standard 6ft one though.
  20. is that the one with the Xed eyes and a frown? We were moving and babysitting 3yr old nephew at the same time. I came home from work and they were one all the bottles of cleaners that were sitting in a box waiting to be moved. I asked willaby(nephew) what that was and he said it was mr yuck. i had never heard of it before.
  21. a cache in my area was put in a cemetary next to a marker that was a 5 day old infant. he created a floral arrangement and underneath it is a tupperware container. you have to lift the floral out of the pot/planter thing in order the find the tuppereare. My mom and I searched for almost an hour for it and it was suppose to be a 1/1 it was one of theses things...
  22. I had a large live strong band and tried to make it smaller but it was resistant to everything I tried. double bubble, superglue....nothing would stick to it...so I bought a childs size bracelet.
