  1. I found this amusing article, wanted to share it with you: Quote "Recently a family got lost while Geocaching near Myakka City, Florida. The family realized they could not find their way out of the woods and called 911 to ask for assistance. A Sheriff Department helicopter later located them an a country truck was able to drive in and rescue the seven member family. This is a good lesson for everyone. GPS is a tool, not a fail-proof wonder gadget. These people are not the first… nor will they be the last people to become lost even though they have a GPS device. I’m sorry the Mileys family had a bad experience Geocaching. If by chance they happen to come across this article in the next few weeks…. I’m not too far from you and would gladly offer a free GPS lesson to you and we’ll go find that cache! Just contact us. http://www.gpsreview.net/family-lost-geocaching/ "

  5. Hi, I have been wondering, are there any tools to navigate in a cave for example, my friend does a lot of cave-exploreation and it would be cool to have something like a GPS for such cases.
  6. Impact resistant? Waterproof? Screen visibility in broad daylight? I don't care too much about those, I need the unit once or twice a day to find my way, not so much to cache.. this is all-in-one that I love..

  11. I sold my 60cs yesterday. I did it because I am not a daily user of the unit plus I am seriously expecting a nice SIRF III unit to come out from Garmin soon, hopefully with SD memory card. On my 60cs I didn't like the compass (useless in a car, must hold unit horizontally while best GPS signal reception is vertical), memory of merely 56MBs Has anyone heard of what unit will folow after the not-so perfect 60cs?
  12. this might be useful if you use the unit in Australia, as it is on the oposite side of earth

  14. Guys! That's not mine .. mine looks like new, I just spoted those pics on the net and wanted to share...
  15. I have a 60CS but after finding these, I am not happy:
  16. Hi everyone, I have a question: how do you work-around the stupid limitation of 500 points for a saved track? After downloading my activetrack log and uploading it back, it gets truncated.. VERY unpleasant indeed. I use saved tracks to share them with friends, longer ones do get cut in half and I hate it.. I have to create two or three tracks for a route.. How do manage this? 60CS specs: Tracks: 10,000-point automatic track log; 20 saved tracks, 500 points each, let you retrace your path in both directions

  18. gpsonsale.com got mine from there, I am happy with service
  19. SHOOT, it started working again out of nowhere, I couldn't figure why it stopped and how it started.. but I am happy now
  20. Hi, I seem to have a problem with my altimeter page, I don't see a chart on it.. I tried zooming out/in, nothing.. The altimeter itself works because I can see the figures moving in an elevator without GPS signal.. is anything broken? I did a master reset, I upgraded to soft 4.0, still nothing.. it used to plot the altitude change, now it is blank...
  21. How do I find out if my 60CS is with the know issue with belt clip button breaking? I know that a newer version of the unit has been released, addressing this, but how can I be usre which version do I have so I can rely on the clip? I got my unit 3 days ago, software version was 3.80 which leads me to think it is pretty recent make, but you never know.. 10x!
  22. Hi, I found this nice tool, might be useful to those wanting to use a bluetooth GPS receiver with existing Garmin maps: http://pocketmv.homeip.net/
