  1. Wow....another day of caching for me in less than a month. Alert the press!! Pat and I went and hit the new crop of Modesto area caches. I was supposed to be studying but decided to enjoy the outdoors for a few hours. We also met up with the Morris bunch and found a couple with them and had a nice lunch. Thanks to the new cachers for adding a few around. It's nice to encounter some new hiding styles. Have a good week everyone. Jaimee
  2. When I said the Tag cache didn't come up in my "nearest" caches, I meant nearest to where we were caching the other day. I did put the new coordinates in manually before we left the house. After church (the new 8:00 a.m. service is great!), I went over and replaced my missing Turlock cache. I now need to check on another and then maybe go look for Tag, just to make you happy Bill Jaimee
  3. I had the coordinates in my GPSr for the Tag cache, but we must not have been near it as it didn't come up in my "nearest" caches. I didn't look to see where it was before leaving either. Today will be a cache-care day. I have a couple that haven't been found in months and could very well be missing and a few others that probably need some TLC. School starts back up next Monday so maybe we can get a few caches found before that time. Still nowhere close to hitting 500...but one of these days! Have a good Sunday all. Jaimee
  4. Happy holidays all! Still no caching for me lately. We were down in Ventura this past week, but neither of us even took a GPSr. The new caches around here appear to be micros so I haven't made a mad dash for them yet..but maybe one of these days before school starts back up again! I am considering archiving all of my caches now. In the past few weeks, I have been getting repeated "finds" on my virtuals without any answers being sent to me. Apparently, this is the new way to play the game! I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Jaimee
  5. quote:Originally posted by Green Achers:I ran out this evening and picked up a cache that I'd found one year and ten days ago. It was archived after my find... likely because I thought it was funny how dangerous it was. And now, I went back out and picked it up for recycling. Wow...there's something new. An archived cache left in place and never picked up!! "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  6. I didn't even know about the new cache placed by Vdbalamo! I guess I should look more often, huh? Congrats on getting the FTF. Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  7. Master of Disguise II is really fun. I was glad we were able to find the right tag finally! It was Monday though when the coordinates were posted (I think it was Monday) so maybe folks will hit it this weekend. 9. Nobody got the CVC Tag cache, but two somebodies found the coordinates to Brute's Tag Dash this evening. We arrived at the final coordinates area as it was getting dark. Because we had no flashlight and really didn't want to tromp around in the dark, we decided to wait until tomorrow to go back out. 10. The Break-Fest was a big hit and fun time! Thanks to all who attended. On a side note, if you did attend, please see my post from today on the event page...thanks! Jaieme "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  11. Well, I did something unusual today...I cached!! Ron and I ventured out of the dead ol' valley (I had been wondering what that smell was) and headed up to Sacramento. It worked out that I captured find #400 while there. It's always fun to cache up there just to see the difference in placement styles. Off to finish up the quiz for tomorrow's event. It would have been a lot more fun if more people were coming!!! (that's a joke for those who are humor challenged!) See ya tomorrow. Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  12. A clarification here on what I said above. When I referred to complaints about valley cachers made by Bay Area cachers, I did not mean that in an offensive way or as a bash on the Bay Area cachers!! When I reread it, I didn't like the way it sounded and figured I better explain myself before someone got riled My point was that there is one particular Bay Area cacher who seems to hold absolutely no fondness for G&M's cache placements (I don't think that's a big secret to anyone who reads logs). Valley cachers haven't been complaining much recently about the cache placements of G&M, or anyone else for that matter. So, I hope I clarified what I meant there. Sorry if anyone took that the wrong way. Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  13. quote:Originally posted by Green Achers:Personally, I like the idea of someone (like me) collecting all the data that everyone has on where it's not. Here's something to ponder. What if someone already found the Tag Dash cache but is remaining silent to allow others the same wild goose chase that the certain someone undertook??? Hmmmmmmmm.......... 15. I have no clue on how much my pig weighs. He is a pot-belly and isn't huge...maybe 80 pounds?? Man..I wish I would have thought of that idea for a cache placement!! Although he isn't very big, he is kind of intimidating because he has tusks. Also, he will sometime yell quite loudly when anyone is outside by his pen. That would have been great to watch someone meet up with him unexpectedly! Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  16. I will tell you something you might find VERY odd. I have NO credit cards! My philosophy is that if I don't have the cash, I don't need it. The piggy's name is Mu Shu (yes, as in "mu shu pork"). I am not sure about his caching capabilities. Thus far, his only real task has been to look cute and eat. I am pretty much the only one who sees his beauty though....sigh. When Michael Morris was out here one time, I took him out to see the pig. He came around the corner and stopped suddenly and then said "What on earth is that thing???" Apparently, he didn't think Mu was too attractive. Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  17. Okay..I am just going to pretend that people aren't talking bad about my pig!!!! Pigs have feelings too, ya know..... I saw that multi-cache you are talking about Bill. I am about 99% sure that I won't be hunting it, but I wouldn't be surprised if Pat goes for it. That will give him something to do while the females shop. I'll hold his GPS hostage until he coughs up some shopping money! Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  18. quote:Originally posted by Green Achers:I've never cached in Monterey... but I found one about 300 feet away from it today!?! Hmmm...I am guessing that we most likely will be hunting for that same cache about this time next month, along with a few others in the area! Are they worth the hunt? At least it is not a triple digit day..yet. I went out a bit ago to check on my pig, and there was actually a nice little breeze blowing. YIPPPEEEE! Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  19. quote:Originally posted by Ron Streeter:Went caching with TeamGui yesterday; two new ones for me and about 6 for the GUI. Ron...caching...alert the press!!! I have done no caching lately. There have been a few that I wanted to look for, but it's just too danged hot. There is always Monterey though.... Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  20. quote:Originally posted by Green Achers:Am I wrong in thinking this is not a good representation of Geocaching? I don't think you are wrong in that thought. If the cache is on private property and the owner of the property gave permission for the hide, then that should be mentioned on the cache page. Even if there are no signs posted, it usually is pretty clear when you are trespassing onto someone's property (locked gates and barbed wire would probably be a pretty good sign). It seems there are many cachers who feel that they can hide their stuff wherever they choose and disregard any rules. Has anyone asked the owner of this particular cache about his/her placement? Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  21. Bill has posted the quiz questions for our Break-Fest coming up next month. If you plan on attending, be sure to visit the page and get the questions answered! There will be a nice prize for the winner of this little game, and it should be interesting to see just what we really know about each other!! Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  22. I won't be going out for the tickets. My main goal was to solve the puzzle and try for the FTF. I don't even really know what the tickets are for, but if the word "country" is indicative of a music style, I would probably stay farrrrrrrrr away!! Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  23. I was just laughing at what I reread there, Bill. 6:13 a.m...were you trying to explain it to me at 6:14????? Jaimee "What a fine thing it is to have an intellect, and room enough in the seat of your breeches to hold it."
  24. quote:Originally posted by Green Achers: The hunting hours are ''8 AM to dusk.'' While it may be hard to explain hunting after dusk, it could be explained at 6:13 AM. _Bill of Green Achers_ My sentiments exactly. It's hard enough to explain what you are doing when you get caught caching in daylight hours, but how are you gonna explain yourself in that particular place at night? Sure, you most likely wouldn't get in trouble, but what if you happen upon an unhappy police officer who feels like giving someone grief? Last time I checked, trespassing could land you in jail and/or with a hefty fine. No thanks...I will stick to "legal" caching as much as possible.
