  3. The people from Magellan finally emailed me back and said that to reset it you have to do the following steps, and they worked. Clearing the Memory will restore the GPS unit to defaults. 1. Access the Tools menu and select ‘Settings’. 2. Highlight ‘Memory’ and press ENTER. 3. Press MENU to display the Options menu. Thank God someone knew how to do it
  4. Yes, that is all i need to do but by pressing that button on the bottom of the unit it does not reset all of that all it does is restart the unit.
  5. Thanks, but i have tryed that many times all that doest to the unit is restarts it. I have looked all over the web even on magellans website and they dont even know m=how to reset it. I will try to talk to a person from magellan today. Thanks, though
  6. I have just bought a new GPS and i need to know how to reset the Magellan eXplorist GC GPS back to factory settings? I am plannig on selling the GPS but if i cant reset it i will not be able to sell the unit. PLEASE HELP
  7. Thanks to every one that gave me advice. This morning i purchased a brand new Garmin GPSMap 62sc, I found it on sportsmanswarehouse.com for $449.00. If anyone is looking for a GPS go on sportsmanswarehouse.com and use the code SWOF15 at checkout and get a $15 DISCOUNT on your order.
  8. Why must it be a Garmin? I have herd that the Garmins are the best. What kind of gps do you have? Garmin Venture Hc and a Magellan Triton 500 for paperless caching, and the VantangePoint map links directly to my PQ's on this site. I need GSAK to download a PQ to my Garmin units. The new Garmins just are too far out of my price range, and also they seem to have some issues with the QR code readers working correctly with the "Verifyed Finds" on their geocaching site, according to what I have read in their geocaching forums. After the last software udgrade, and Magellan being partners with this site I really like the Triton for geocaching and hiking because I have the "super quad" maps for my area, and they show great deatil. Best part is they all came in a bundle pack for around $150. If Garmin makes a compareable unit and maps that is competively priced, I'll buy it. I have a Magellan GC GPS right now it is ok but there a couple of problems and i would not buy another one again. So i think i will get a Magellan again. My Megellan was junk before I installed the last software update. What kind of problems does your unit have? Mine is a refurbushed replacement for a Triton 400 that was junk straight out of the box. I can't complain about their customer service. My unit just when i get out of the car to get a geocache it bounces around from screen to screen. How do you do an update on the unit?
