  1. Moderators - What is the time from posting a log until it is completely available to the My Finds PQ? Is it a delay between servers? Is it affected by the level of activity? I appreciate all who responded. Most of the responses are speculation. I am wondering what the facts are.

  3. I've noticed that if I log my caches for the day and then, within say 12 hours, I run the special MyFind PQ, it may or may not have those find and/or logs in it. How long do I have to wait? What is your experience?
  4. I downloaded it today. I like the enhancements a lot. I think that I found a problem - while I found a cache yesterday, I did my logging on gc.com after midnight. My log shows in gc.com as being 12/30, but cachestats shows it to be 12/31. Also, I have a question about the sequence of caches cachestats interprets. I did three caches yesterday. The second one was a milestone and chosen for that reason. However, cachestat interprets another to be that milestone. How do I correct that?
  5. Been trying to use GSAK to show all caches that I and a couple of friend have not yet found. GSAK has a filter feature to eliminate caches that I have found and caches that a friend has found. However, I noticed that all of the logs are not brought down in a GPX file - for instance, Beaver Cache has 184 logged visits, yet my GPX file only has 10 logs. How many logs do GPX files give?
  6. With a name like FlygURL, not be a fly fisherman. Been fishing my whole life, growing up in Southern Mississippi/Louisiana fishing with parents and grandparents. When I moved away, I took up fly fishing and now teach fly fishing and tying as a volunteer. Started cacheing after becoming a Mom, since it is hard to take a 2 year old in the middle of the Chattahoochee River. It is something we can do together, outdoors. In comparing my fishing to my caching, I notice that with both, while I am searching alone, for fish or caches, the folks around my who are also searching, make the search so much more fun. I am not one to cache alone, nor do I fish alone. Catching the fish is great, but having friends and family around while I catch fish is even better.
  7. Just found (this weekend) a troll of a cache our fourth time out. DNF caches haunt me. I must find them.
  8. It's 2am EST - and I am still getting deadlocks when trying to retrieve a TB from a cache. Are most of the problem you are seeing related to TB?
  9. What do you mean by a satillite numbered 33 or higher? There is a display of satillite numbers on mine, but not sure what there relevance is other than distinguishing them from one another.
  10. Not a clear sky. The diffence was in the thousandths and only by 3.
  11. I have a (yellow) eTrex. For my first cache, I averaged 15 readings (between 15 and 30 feet of accuracy) and published. When experienced cachers in the area finally found the cache, they commented to others that it is obvious that I have a (yellow) eTrex because my coordinates were not very accurate. So my question for those who know a lot about the various models of eTrex is, Is one more accurate than another? If so, what with the * feet of accuracy display?
  12. You say you know how to mark a waypoint, but you do not know how to enter the coordinates for the waypoint you are marking? Is that right?
  13. Can you get to the waypoint page? - use the page button, until you see WAYPOINT in the list - use the up/down buttons until WAYPOINT is highlighted - use the enter button You should now see a list of tabs on the left and waypoints, organized by those tabs, on the right. Use the arrow buttons to select the correct tab. Use the enter button to open that tab. Use the arrow buttons to find the waypoit you want. Use the enter to bring that waypoint page to the front. Choose GOTO. Does that help?
  14. I have a shared bookmark list. I emailed it to friends to help me do a little puzzle solving before our outing. One is a member (not premium) and one is not a member. Can they seem my shared bookmark list?
  15. I think I figured it out... I think this is because the text " Nearest Cache" inside of the HTML tags has a space as the first character. To prove this, I edited the HTML output from GSAK, removing the space before the text, saves, iSilo-ed the file to my PDA, and the link worked correctly.
  16. So, one of my coworkers has fine tuned my question.... we think that it is iSilo/iSiloX that is not handling the link to a label in a webpage... Anyone else?
  17. Anyone out there using GSAK with iSilo? I generated HTML using GSAK, then load it to my Cassiopeia E-125 (Pocket PC) via iSilo. Unfortunately, some of the links within a page (that work on the PC), Nearest Caches and Hints do not work when loaded to the E-125. I am thinking that the problem is in some of the iSiloX settings, but most of the links work, so, at this point, I'm not sure what to do. Anyone with experience with either product have suggestions? Thanks!
  18. Cassiopeia E125 loaded with iSilo to transfer/read the HTML files from GSAK. While it is old, by todays standards, it was cheap. I like it.
  19. Camper17 - Know anyone I can go caching with?? And, aren't you supposed to be working? All - Camper17 is one of my best caching buddies, right behind my husband, dad, and daughter. I do prefer to cache with others. It's just that my need for caching sometimes exceeds other's needs for caching. I admit it, I am addicted. And, I am recruitung - took 5 newbies out into the woods today at lunch looking again for That's Not Fair, with no luck. We will be trying again soon. FlygURL
  20. Hi, I'm the original poster... Many of you have made me even more paranoid.
  21. I am more concerned about the urban-beasts than the wild beasts. I do think that the media puts too much emphasis on a female's vulnerability alone. I have in the past (a long time ago) carried pepper spray. Thankfully, I never had to use it. While I have no problems with guns, I am not interested in caching with a gun at this point in my life. Just wanted to make sure I am not alone (pun intended).
  22. I live in Metro Atlanta and I occasionally cache alone. I prefer to go with someone, but sometimes, I do only have the option to cache alone. I think that my father and husband have convinced me to be very paranoid to the point that if the cache is not in an open space, say it is in urban woods, I am less likely to search for it, or if I do choose to search for it, less likely to find it becasue I am nervous. Comments? Experiences?
  23. It's great to know that I am not alone. GSAK to HTML to iSiloX/iSilo is working great. The delays are in iSiloX converting the html files to the iSilo format. Once in that format, the sync is under 10 minutes. The access to the files via iSilo on my Casio is great. I still wish there were a GSAK like app for the E-125.
