  1. I have the gold and just purchased the MapSend Topo. So far it has been very nice and the Mapsend Topo or Direct Route is a must. I like to have the street detail to see where I am going and both packages will work. I got the topo for the park detail and so far love it all.
  2. Thanks, that fixed the issue. I had it on Highest. I forgot that I turned it up all the way. I move it back to just high and it did great. Thanks again
  3. I just got my Topo software and load up a my map of the area. It helps alot to have the side streets and things. Only question if you are on the pc and you zoom out you start losing detail (which is good) so you can just see the major streets. When I am on the Megellan, I start to zoom out and it keeps the detail which starts to just make a large black area. I do see the option for what it shows but I really don't want to turn I did see where I can turn off some details but am I missing something to tell it to lose some detail when I zoom out?
  4. True.. I figured it was 100% on the dot but did not know the range. Well maybe I will work with it some more and get closer. I only gave it one try. Might have been user error ( or most likely). Yeah, this weekend I plan on doing one or more.. I can't wait to search and find it. Thanks
  5. I just got my Meridain Gold and so far love it. I am a noob to the GPS world and trying to understand fast. I set a waypoint just outside my house and saved it. Then moved about 30 feet from that spot and hit the goto and picked that way point. Then started back to that point to see how close I could get to it. I went to the screen for Bearing, heading, speed and distance. First it told me I was about 100 feet from the spot and when I got to the spot it said I was about 50feet from it. Did I set something wrong? I did upgrade the firmware and I don't have any map software load yet. That is coming this weekend. Just thining about going to find a cache and will be off about 50 feet from the search might take sometime searching.
  6. Thank you all.. Great info. I am going with Topo, I don't need step and step direction on the road but I do want good street details so I can find the streets. It looks like both programs do the streets very well and I will be hunting alot so I will need the parks and other info alot more. Thank you again..
  7. I just got a Meridian Gold and going to get the extra software. I see that I can get the Topo or Direct Route software. Which one is the better first purchase to get, I am mainly going to use it for caching. Thanks for any help in this one.
