  1. Hey, He took my idea! Ha, Ha! Seriously, sometimes they appear empty and then as if it were magic, someone is kind enough to replenish it. Ideas can be copied... if they steal your location, that's not as easy to claim back, though.
  2. I basically went for the combination of the two events... and being able to trade with other coin addicts face to face was nice. The 'bonus' for me was about 40 caches over the three days I was in the area... oh, and the rare Compass rose coin. :}
  3. Not sure I'd buy it, but if you have any available for trade, I'd trade you my personal coin for one. http://www.snowwolf.org/gallery2/v/Photos/GC/MyCoin/
  4. If you don't already have one of my personal coins, I'd love to trade with you. I have both black nickel and gold available http://www.snowwolf.org/gallery2/v/Photos/GC/MyCoin/
  5. Drat... the one I got is at home. It'll all be solved by then, no doubt.
  6. Sounds like fun.. Count me in (assuming I can get a driver)
  7. This could be the start of something big COIN drop
  8. I have my own personal coin... but I'm wondering if yours is trackable and/or has an icon?
  9. The coinfest was a great event and I traded a bunch of stuff (27 new trackables and 7 non-trackable personals). I, too, got the records, so I'll have trading stock for a while yet. The Temecula event on Sunday wasn't nearly as energized, just bigger (and a MEGA). All in all, I think it is worth the money needed to get myself down and back.... now about the bill I have to pay...
  10. I didn't see the notice about this until recently... I'd like to come along, but I don't have a car to get there, nor do I know the solution coords. I sent an email to you with my cell number.
  11. Well, i'm in the local area now... I'm in the Extended Stay America, unfortunately (33.5169N 117.16115W)... I'll be going out to do some local caching, by foot, but I would definately like to hook up with somebody today. I have an email-capable cellphone, so drop me an email via my GC profile if you want to get together.
  12. I'd certainly be interested in this too... I've been trying to nudge a friend (who also wants to do the ape cache) to get a bike rake on his vehicle... maybe this will help him. If not, I can certainly do the walk.. and maybe even help with the litter for Ambrosia. ;}
  13. Aloha! I'd love to get my hands on one of the golden versions of this coin, but even though I was born in Hawaii, I know that doesn't qualify me. I do, however, have something that I'd like to trade for one such golden coin. When my personal (and trackable) coins were being made, I had them make 10 polished silver coins, of which I have 4 or 5 left. Originally they were to be cache prizes, but I've found them better suited to rare trades. I would be willing to part with one, for whomever can get me one of the rare coins. 14. Add my name to the hat of people interested in participating.
  15. You can see the sun in the picture! Last I heard, we had a chance of rain this weekend. Last weekend we set record highs...some areas reached the 90's! Wow... I've spent enough time in the cooler PNW, it'll certainly be a switch for me. most of my childhood was in El Cajon, though, but I found cold easier to acclimate to than heat.
  16. I will be going to Geocoinfest and I will be picking my coins up there. I don't need a full set, but will honor request from any in the Top 40 that want my coin. Some time after Geocoinfest (once I think everyone in the Top40 have asked me for trades), I will open up trades for other trackable coins. P.S. I don't mind keeping a list of people who want to trade with me, if you don't mind waiting until I'm ready.
  17. that one is so cool. I love it!! aarrRRRROOOOoooo
  18. I happened to pick up Globalgirl's coin and will be taking it to Geocoinfest... I'll have to enlist a few friends to help it get as many feats completed at such a big event.
  19. I gave a quick description to some firefighters who were doing building maintenance checks of the houseboats in area I was caching. I had already rehid the cache when I was questioned, so at least my search wasn't interrupted.
  20. I'm sorry I missed that. I got my volunteer coin from Team Misguided as a thank you for the events we have hosted, and continue to host. (4 in 2007). I was told in no uncertain temrs that if I ever let it go, either in trade, or on ebay, they would hunt me down and do very bad things to me. And I believe them. Heh... they didn't give me such a stern warning, but none-the-less I don't plan on letting go of it. And, yes, I have a Lackey coin as well from a visit to GS HQ.
  21. I got a Voulenteer coin from Team Misguided, as a thank-you for being a participant in a kid related skit... complete with young boys banging on my make-shift helmet with inflatable swords. :}
  22. My second, but the first that I actually retain rights too. It'll be nice to have some new trading stock, too.
  23. There's actually a local cacher (couple) that I've tried to point to these forums in order to get cheaper coin... last I checked they're still getting coins the expensive way. Personally I'm glad that I found these forums when I did... elsewise I wouldn't have been able to get the sets of coins or metals I do now. Back to the original topic, I think the highest for the black nickel version of my coin sold for about $30, with the gold falling not too far behind. Only ten silver coins were made and I know precisely who I've given them to.
