  1. After seeing the nominations thusfar, I would also have to put my vote in for moun10bike ... He is a cool guy, even without being the originatoe of our collective obsession.
  2. I would be interested in a trade with you too, if you would like one of my coins. http://www.snowwolf.org/gallery2/v/Photos/GC/MyCoin/
  3. I traded for one at Geocoinfest.. with Moun10bike himself. :} It's true, they are non-trackable... but in my opinion, only half of those produced are trackable. Without trackability they considerably cheaper to produce.
  4. If we had to choose an acronym, that'd be my choice. That'd be sweet... doubt it'll happen, tho.
  5. Pen me down for the Puget Sound area (roughly Seattle) of Washington (state)... It'd be my first hosted event, too. :} (there are plenty of others in the area that have hosted events, so no doubt I can get pointers if I need them) I like the idea of voting for a design of the coin... once we get a good idea on the number of cities participating, I could drop me own into the hat.
  6. ooOOooo.. nifty celtic design. Much better than I could do. :}
  7. I designed my own coin. Does that count?
  8. I think just one micro would be good enough... Maybe have the list of cities to denote where they were held, instead of dots on a globe. I agree with the 'only attendees' aspect of the coin, too.
  9. The Puget Sound area (of Washington) had had a pre-GCF event this year... but maybe another one wouldn't hurt. Were you thinking of making the coin trackable/icon'd?
  10. Sarah I will try again...I just know I probably can't do the celtic design, but I will try again. Also if anyone can tell me how to load a font into Adobe I'd be very greatful If you mean Photoshop, merely have the font file open (double-click on it, then minimize) before running the program and it should show up in your available fonts automatically. The disadvantage with this is that you have to have it open whenever you modify that file - I did this with the knotwork that I did around my geocoin, which was also a font.
  11. True, it doesn't seem right.. but I don't think think there is a hard-and-fast rule about finding your hides. Ii have know of people who found a cache that the helped on (test-run on a puzzle, etc) without anyone making note of it before.
  12. (not mine, but it never said it had to be) http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=96840 = 78,794 mi
  13. Ya'know... that icon could be easily converted into a transparent .gif file, since it has a nice clean border. (i'm surprised that more people don't make their odd shaded icons transparent... but maybe that's just me)
  14. Thanks for all the opinions/info. I'll definitely be looking into the paypal shipping possibility in the near future. The P.O.s local to me do have APCs, but the recent $1 minimum sucks - even if I had a dozen packages to send, it wouldn't let me if the per-package price was under $1. I do have a digital scale at home (purchased through my stamps.com account), so that's one of the good things I got out of it. :}
  15. the Come Together coins are two-parter... Linky There's two versions of the puzzle coins, which are both four parts. Crake's 12 Days of Caching coins are also four parts (though they don't interlock). (of course I may be totally confused about what you mean by two-part coins)
  16. I've had a stamps.com account for a while so I can have the simplicity of printing stamps at home and not futzing with the post office (which usually isn't open after I get home from work). Unfortunately, I've come to the realization that the monthly fee isn't really worth it, especially when I might be printing 5-8 stamps in a month. So, I'm looking for alternatives... Ideally it would be something that wouldn't charge a monthly fee. I'd be cool with a surcharge onto postage I purchase, just so I don't have to visit the P.O.
  17. Congarats on your 5 years... I think I'm coming up on 2 this summer, so I'm a youngster in comparison. :} Iffn you ever come back up to Washington (there is a nice campout this summer, btw), I'd love to trade with you. I might even have my second personals available by then.
  18. Couldn't the non-trackable ones just lack an engraved code? Sure it says it's trackable, but without a code it's useless.
  19. Dropped me order into the hat too.
  20. Make sure to design it so that it has a bit of curvature... and you'ld need the seam lines where the caps are.
  21. Been done! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=gckcr5
  22. Larger than other tags, these will be 1.25" (32mm). The other big difference will be tracking at geocaching.com with a tracking number that begins with GT not the normal PC. Cost is correct. The only downside, if it can be seen as such, is that all of these GeoTags will have the same icon. Still trying to decide if I want in on this project... I got in on the Geo-40 project and I still have lots of those coins left. Mostly, I'm trying to justify the expense. -.- BTW, if you know javascript or vbscript, a price estimator would be handy to put on the page, imho.
  23. Bikes can go slow, too... no need to race to the cache and bike.. or even in circles. Personally, it'd be easier on me to bike than walk... but 6 miles I could go either way. Don't know about me friends, though.
