  1. I'm not sure if we should accept this way to play the game. In this case all the graves have been documented on other websites, like findagra... So on Waymarking.com waymarks should be created by waymarkers who personally visit a site/place and take coordinates by themselves (For me it's not so important if they have 6 m or 10 m in accuracy). I thought we played it like this all the years. It's great that Don visited so many graves and submitted them to our database but I feel unwell if the last 400 possible waymarks would be submitted with: "pictures taken by...." Coordinates taken from ..." I'm open to discuss this in a friendly way.

  7. I approved it a few seconds ago, good one. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  8. There was no edit request. The waymark was locked and I unlocked it for you.

  13. Hi friends, check out the new HQ podcast 'Employee spotlight' "Our first episode of 2018 features Sean Boots, one of Geocaching HQ’s longest tenured employees. If you use the Geocaching website, then you’ve definitely seen Sean’s work, whether you realize it or not! Bonus: in a past life, Sean was lead singer for a band that enjoyed some success in the 90s." https://www.geocaching.com/blog/podcast/episode-12/ https://www.geekwire.com/2017/working-geek-seattles-90s-rock-scene-failed-geocachings-sean-boots-found-lasting-success-next-hot-ticket/ Cheers, lumbricus
  14. The leader isn't active for a long time now. I reviewed the incoming waymarks the last years. One officer denied more than 50 maybe up to 100, some back to 2008 (approved by the leader) one day before Christmas. I don't like these actions, made me sad. I quit the group. It looks like I have been to lax in reviewing, so I'm out.
  15. Today I got a message that my way to review Waymarks is not the right way. I should spend more time to review Waymarks. I should do more denials if something is not 100 % right. Over the years my perspective changed. Every single Waymark submitted to a category was created by a Waymarker. The Waymarker spend time to go out and discover new things out there which have not beend documented yet. If it comes up to write a listing the people have very different backgrounds or things they like. Not all are Dr.s or people which like doing researches for hours. Some Waymarkers like that, others like to discover things and give them a voice online. If I review a new Waymark I try to be as positive and friendly as I can be. If a very active Waymarker choose a category I assume he did right. I still check it, but normally he/she did right. Even if the long description is poor we win with every Waymark. We have an edit function, all Waymarkers with high quality standards are welcome to edit Waymarks and add some informations. The quality of our Waymarks at the moment is high! We should not forget that Waymarking has to be fun in some way for all players. I can assure you if we scare away average quality waymarkers with forcing them to 1,000 % standars we will kill Waymarking by ourselfs.
  16. Congratulations. I wonder that you accept the symbol of the Holy Spirit a simple white dove. If I understand it right it's different to the peace doves you're looking for. I can find a white dove in almost every church here in Bavaria. I visited a church yesterday, three white doves inside, all symbol for the Holy Spirit. Please make it clearer for me.
