  1. Maybe we could contact Garmin. They could have their own cache hidden there. Yes it would be commercial. I’m sure they would make a reasonable deal for the publicity. It wouldn’t cost them much. A few t-shirts and cheap swag refilled at a low rate on a regular basis.
  2. narcissistic adj : characteristic of those having an inflated idea of their own importance [syn: egotistic, egotistical, self-loving]
  3. Someone that has shown an ability to be a member of something without trying to force it to bend to his will. Don Quixote thought he was a knight also. All he did was tilt at windmills
  4. I agree that folks need to calm down with trying to create new rules. It’s just another tactic to try and force GC.com to bend to their will. I do think you have the part I quoted backwards. It’s the other sites that have both caches. Chicken Little was wrong. The sky is not falling.
  5. Since the AT is governed by the NPS this is a very touchy subject. Depending on where you are along it depends on how much on either side is also under NPS control. Since the NPS has banned geocaching on its property bringing up caches along it may inadvertently jeopardize those caches. A ranger not aware of how much property is under his (or her) jurisdiction may choose to remove caches that have been properly placed. Maybe a few folks could PM the information about the various caches.
  6. You need to check your email on the account you gave GC.com when you signed up. There should be an email there with the information you are looking for.
  7. You should validate your account. That is also a problem.
  8. Are you checking the drop down box that states what kind of log it is? That's the most common problem.
  9. Sure there is. In fact it's right on the Cache Listing Requirements/Guidelines page. * Micro (35 mm film canister or smaller, typically containing only a logbook) * Regular (Tupperware-style container or ammo can) * Large (5 gallon bucket or larger)
  10. A day like that? Try a week or more like that. Your cache sense will return. Just consider yourself in a "slump"
  11. Before I switched to paperless caching I could read ROT13. The only annoying thing would be hints along the lines of Useless Hints. Don't most cachers learn this skill along the way?
  12. Unfortunately because of Sock puppet accounts, logging fake finds, petty disagreements between cachers and egos in general this can never work. The human element is the weak point here.
  13. There's also this little app that will help you a bit GeoClipping
  14. Store them in a seperate baggie each. I store my Christmas lights that way and have never had any tangle problems.
  15. Ok, I will try to explain this slowly so you understand. Cacher A has a job that makes him travel in a large (say 500 mile) area on a regular basis. He has found caches in that area over time and has shown he travels there often. Cacher B has found a bunch of caches in the area around his house. He goes to see some friends (500 miles away) and plants a cache. When asked about maintaining the newly placed vacation cache he says "Huh? If there are any problems I'll just archive it." You don't get the benefit of the doubt right off the bat. You can "SAY" anything. Doing it is another story.
  16. Try using this cache as a center point. sunfish sojourn I plan on camping up there again htis summer and hunting some of the caches. Last years camping trip was 18 hours of pouring rain.
  17. The only thing I saw you post on the second page of this thread was a few nasty comments obout this website, spam for your new web site and a few snide comments. Point out what you're talking about chief. Don't play word games. Unless of course you're just the latest in a long line of trolls to pass through here.
  18. Then whom exactly were you directing it at? If you have some information spit it out. I would love to read some of your examples. In fact I would love to read even one of your examples.
  19. A mans reputation is based on his actions and deeds as viewed by the community he is a part of.. Not on what he says he will do or says he has done.
  20. Not *entirely* true. They were created to allow people to place caches in areas that had banned geocaching. Such as Nation Park Service controlled areas and areas that a real cache could not be placed.
