  1. Well I put together a small app to log your finds on your Palm. If anyone is interested in trying this let me know what you think. Here is the link. Writing applications is new to me so... I am using a Palm m130 and it works great.
  2. Congrats and enjoy. Where in PA are you?

  6. Looks good. If I send you my back pack will you sew them on for me
  7. Geocities hmmmm. I don't think that Geocities "restricts" who can see the pic when it is linked just, that they limit the bandwidth per hour, on the free page. If you post an image in your message with geocites it is pretty much the same as bandwidth goes. If enough people look at it, it will eventually show up as a nice red X. Also you should change the .jpg to .txt for it to show up in the message. If I am wrong I appologize but this has been my experience. Also I do not use AOL, so YMMV.

If you are moving it is a nice feature but as soon as you stop it might get confusing sometimes. Anyway have fun with it
  9. Well I am partial to Garmin so here is the basic unit, no bells or whistles. The next step up that has mapping is this one. Take a look around their web site and also Magellan's web site. I don't know much about Magellan units but someone here will let you know about them.
  10. Suunto makes a pretty cool watch. Compass, altimeter and pressure readings.
  11. Welcome and congrats on the V, you will like it. You will have to get a CD from Garmin's Mapsource line up or if your V came with the City Select CD you can use that but you will have to unlock a region. There is more info on unlocking and about the Mapsource on Garmin's Web page. Have fun with it.

I'm just curious. It depends on what CD you are using. My friend just drove from Philadelphia to LA and downloaded Mpasource Roads & Rec on a 32mg card and filled only 1/2 of the card. I recently got a chance to play with the Metroguide USA CD and by just loading 8 or 9 maps it filled up about 25mg's.
  18. Depends on wher I am going. Usually: GPS Comapss Water FRS Xtra Batteries Taurus PT-940 Something to munch on Paper map sometimes
