  1. But these old eyes can't make out what it says... Help please? TIA, Tagamet
  2. Hee-hee, Big words from someone who received their first White Jeep TB in MAY!!! Wasn't the contest advertised to begin on June 6th? You held onto the other five pretty long too, huh? Let me guess, you work for Jeep and are a consultant for Garmin. Cowboy, I'm a shrink who's not employed by Gamin nor Jeep. Your prescription is to please take two aspirins and a friend to bed. Remember "fun"? It's what we're supposed to be having. The Jeeps are about to be distributed in PA, and I'm stoked as all get out. I'm just guessing, but I doubt that they'll be distributed BY the whiners. We really should be thankful for these people who invest their time and gasoline to further our enjoyment. Be well (or at least better), Tagamet
  3. Actually, some of these individuals ENJOY upsetting the TB's original owners. Angry emails just serve to reinforce their behavior, and therefore just makes it worse. Childish behavior is rarely modified or improved by an equally childish response. When all is said and done, they're BUGS for heaven's sake. Life's too short. Isn't it better to just concentrate on enjoying the hobby? I just spent my lunch hour driving 3 TB's to the I-80 TB motel. Nice drive. Pretty day. Quiet time. It's all good. Tagamet PS Yes, one of the TB's was a YJTB (that I forgot in the car when caching last night). PPS Maybe, we ought to be sending NICE emails to those people who move the bugs along in a reasonable time frame (instead of ignoring it). That would (hopefully) "reward" appropriate behavior on their part. PPS And yes, I'm a shrink. The couches will be full when the WJTB's hit Pennsylvania (lol)
  4. Correction: None seen *yet* in the particular area of Pennsylvania that you searched. I spent 11 hours this weekend on White Jeep distribution. They're finding their way into caches. Please don't over-generalize. I guess New York isn't TOO awful far away.... Tagamet You know what? It's comments like yours that make me really wonder why I volunteer my time. Have fun with the Jeeps. I'm sorry that my attempt at humor missed the mark. I've re read and re re read my post and still can't see the slur. Sorry, Tagamet

    Tb Mileage

JUST a guess, but do they add the mileage to the home coordinates of the person who picked it up? When you log a TB, there's a spot to "add a waypoint". Maybe that's where the extra miles come from?? Tagamet

  7. Somehow, it's just not the same. On Saturday, I even tracked down a Yellow Jeep TB from last year. Nice bug, but the wrong color.... Tagamet
  8. Will it run cachemate? If you've already listed it on Ebay, can you post a link? TIA, Tagamet
  9. How much cash would you wnat for it? TIA, Tagamet
  10. Well, at least I can wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The Jeeps will come in time (I hope). Tagamet PS None to be seen in Penna either,
  11. Heh heh. It was a kindness, given the disappear rate from last year's, but I can see that one being...stretched a bit. No, seriously dude. There was a WJTB in this thing. Check the logs. On the other hand, it's a contest. They want us to be happy, get excited about their stuff, and enter. I love capitalism. Isn't it the case that you can go to their site and just enter the contest? Although I sure intend to try to catch up with one of these TB's, the rules seem to allow you to just provide your identifying info and enter. Am I wrong on this? I'm a Noob, so I wasn't participating last year. Thanks in advance, Tagamet
  12. A sig item is usually marked with the username of the cacher (otherwise, it isn't much good as a sig item). Team FISUR has put together an excellent page of sig items by region. May I suggest pharmaceuticals? I know you guys get free samples, and I'm just itching to try that new sleep aid -- Lunesta, is it? -- that's supposedly approved for long-term use Thanks! I'll check out the link to the list. I was thinking of using little boxes of raisins (given that they are grapes that have been "shrunk"). It might be a better idea to go with your suggestion and leave sample packs of the "little blue pill" (aka Phizer Riser). As long as you can't sleep, you'd have something with which to entertain yourself.....(just kidding, *kinda*). I'm still wondering how they log the insurance forms for an ER visit resulting from that side effect - "erections lasting more than 4 hours, although rare, require immediate medical attention"...... Thanks again, Tagamet
  13. Is there a way to determine: "Is this a sig item", "Whose sig item is it", and most importantly to me at this point is "what items have already been chosen AS sig items" - I don't want to choose an item that someone else has already chosen. TIA Tagamet
  14. The Garmin 60CS has a neat arrow/bearing feature that keep you pointed at the "prize". It'd even keep an ADHD child occupied, so it ought to be marginally effective keeping almost any male (like myself) interested. Even if that fails, you do hold some primary reinforcers.... HTH, Tagamet (the shrink)
  15. You must have one of those sexy foreign cars.... Tagamet PS I hope you don't (or didn't) have too many pets.
  16. (At the bridge) "What's your favorite color"
  17. Get the Garmin 60CS, it will make you a happy cacher for many years to come. What navigation/gaming needs can you forsee that could possibly make that an incorrect choice? Thanks to everyone for the great input. I found my first cache today (yes, before I ordered the GPS. I'm going to take the TB I got today and leave it at a second spot near I-80 that's listed as a "Bug motel". I'm pretty sure where that spot is too. The Garmin 60CS should arrive on THURSDAY! Thanks again, Tagamet

    Gps Help

I thought that the cs60 worked with both a USB and a serial cord. I'll check the manual I downloaded. Tagamet

    Gps Help

You don't have to buy new mapping software when the newer versions come out. That's up to you. It's not going to suddenly stop working, just because an updated version has come out. I understand that, but I also don't want to purchase a program in the first place, if the data is significantly lacking. Tagamet

    Gps Help

Purchase of a CS60 might be in my immediate future. I'm on the east coast. Has the software problem been addressed? There's no way I want to purchase new software every year, so if that's the case, Lowrance - here I come!. Tagamet
  21. Sooooo many factors to consider! Tagamet
  22. your joking?? Yes and no. The concept of a cache that has no location is a bit abstract for me. I'm just reaching for the first step on the learning ladder that is geocaching, so most of my remarks will evidence my nearly total lack of knowledge of the sport (so far). tagamet PS: I AM, however, a shrink.
  23. First off, thanks to *everyone* for the hands on experience reports. Until Briansnat's post today, I was seriously looking at the Lowrance M100. I downloaded the manual last night and was reading through that. I didn't like the idea that you had to remove the batteries to install or remove the sd memory card, but I thought that it could just stay in there to be read by a computer. Is that NOT the case, or can it be read by the USB connection? Thanks, Tagamet PS I can get it for ~$390 on line.
  24. Believe it or not, I DID remember that one. I'm still partial to the limbless knight... Tagamet
