You know that might be one of those chigger remedies that were being passed around at GW4.

Just when you think you are about to come around that corner someone is there to kick you back down. I am unsuure why there is so much hatred and animosity towards not only individuals you have never met, but a whole city you have never been to. It's actually kind of sad when you think about it. I feel for you and wish you much brighter days A&T. Comniig from somone who has had a bad couple days, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Try to cheer up buddy and look for that silver lining. In fact I will make you an offer that I hope you don't refuse. I would like to help open your eyes and let you see the City of Pittsburgh for all we have to offer rather than you harber ill will towards the unknown. Come to GCF and let me show you around. We have lots to offer in evrything from music to culture to history to sports to some of the nicest most caring people in the world. You come to GCF and I will be your personal tour guide. We will paint the town red as they say. (I guess in the coin world that would be a translucent red ). We can cache, laugh, and just enjoy life without all the anger and such. Heck I will even buy the drinks. You can't beat an offer like that now can ya!? I can only offer you a hand of friendship. It's up to you take shake it.
Hey Jim! If I say mean things will you buy me some drinks in Pittsburgh too?????? I can bring a couple swords for swirlers and cocktail picks!

These are trackable right? I know that's a stupid question.......................
Yes the scabbard has all the tracking information on it.
They will be available the imiddle of March.
I am so glad everyone thinks they are as fun as we do!
-
Tsk, tsk, tsk, no knives in caches!
I'm sure these are not long enough or sharp enough to do any damage. But it was my first thought on seeing it.
Good luck on your coin.
(edited to fix my smilie face)
Not a knife. A sword!
No Causalities reported in the test market thus far.

Very nice design, indeed!
Are both pieces trackable separately?
How does the sword stay 'latched' into the scabbard?
Originally the idea was to make them both trackable. But there really is no room on the sword for all the information needed. It end up being all information.
We also debated a chain to keep them together. But the HWS lackey felt that the chain would be so long and who wants to sword fight with a scabbard hanging down? This said lackey is in charge while the cat is away and made the coporate decision to let them be chain free.
If you hold them upside down, you will lose your sword. But they stay nicely in flips and are really fun to play with!

A tool every caching pirate needs when out in the bush!
Buddyluv4 came to us nearly a year ago with these awesome idea. We knew it could be done, we just needed to figure out how! Jamie at Madhatter Neverland created the design. Then off to make it happen.
Finally we got it to work. I am proud to announce our two peice coin set.
These will be available mid March. The sword measures 2" and the scabbard 1.60".
They will be available in:
Antique gold
Antique Silver
LE Two tone Silver/Gold

I would tell you to come to Texas. But then you would get here just about summer and that is when our poor postal workers suffer.

I got my white and black horsed today. They are spectacular. Good thing I have some suction cups sitting around. I can hook them up.

I've got some questions regarding Translucent, Glitter and Glow enamels for geocoins:
1. Translucents: Is there a translucent enamel that correlates to most other available colors or is there a limited number of colors?
2. Glows: Has any coins been made with the orange glow enamel (Glow # 7 on Landsharkz chart)? Is it a nice orange or kind of "muddy"?
3. Glows: Are the glow enamels shown on Landsharkz chart all of the glow enamel possibilities?
4. When using translucent, glitters and glow enamels do they change the "feel" of a coin if previous enamels used on a coin were imitation hard enamels (smooth filled in and flush with the uppermost serface) or can you get the imitation hard enamel finish with translucents, glitters and glows?
5. Are there any "Pearlized" or "Iridescent" enamels?
Thanks for any help with these questions!
CF30
I think there was a nerd made in just about every glow there is! You might want to ask Tadepole if anyone used that one. She would be able to tell you who to contact. Glows require epoxy as do glitters. If you got the Creepy Crawler Cacher coin it is a great example of a glow coin. Mine is epoxy.
Translucents come in all the color families but they're not as many as there are pms colors. They come in both soft and Imitation hard enamel.
Hope that helps!

Those are awesome. I just love the mix of enamels and metal.

I see talk of these swirls...is there any way to swirl a glow color into a glitter?
I think that is a great idea! i am curious off that can be done.
I have never seen this done before. I can ask if it is possible.
Do you people stay up nights thinking of ways to torture factory workers?
I think the two process with the enamels will make this a no go. But it doesn't hurt to ask. I just would not get to set on the idea.

Nice job! I like fun coins like this.

Maybe i come with a nerdy question:
How long does it take when the nerds are ready???
Which phases goes the nerd throug??
I do not know how a coin is made, i only know how i buy him
1. Send artwork to the mint
2. The mint makes "blueprints" that will be used to make the coin dies.
3. Once you approve the blueprints, the mint usually makes a few samples to check for quality.
4. If you choose, the mint can send you the physical samples. Many people request certain colors or metal finishes of the samples so they can see how it will look when deciding on colors. If you do not need to see the samples, the mint will send you a photograph of the sample coins.
5. Once the sample coins are approved, the mint will begin full production of the order.
6.The finished coins are shipped to you!
Depending on the complexity of the artwork, blueprints may take a few days to several weeks. Sample coins will be ready about 2 weeks after the approval of blueprints. If you choose to have samples shipped to you, that will add at least a week or two of time until the finished coins are ready. Once full production starts, depending on how busy the mint is, coins can be finished 2-4 weeks later, and then it takes another few days for them to arrive in the mail.
**If my times are really far off, step in and correct me**
I better watch my job! LOL! I thought I would add in this case, the Nerds V1 will be take less time, as the die is already made.

Uh, when hubby and I had our engagement pics taken in 1995, I bought a brand new sweter for the pikture. When we got the prufs bak, we realised i had forgotten to take the SIZE stickur off! Big ol' size (not sayin whut size) sticker right smak dab in the middle of the front of my sweater!!
That is hillarious! Oh my! How is is that has not happened to me? LOL!

My lovely 10 year old, told me my shirt was inside out. The sales girl at the restraunt found this quite funny! I guess I need to tell that kid where to tell people these things!
-
IT all comes down to the size and shape of the coin. What the factory thinks it's throw away rate is going to be. So, I am not sure there is a number you can answer that with.
-
Awesome Chris! That looks great.

Should there be a seperate thread for the coin discussion?

I have been waiting on a trade since October. Did get confirmation my side had arrived. Still waiting for mine. I thought perhaps the holidays would slow things down. So have not sent out any search partys. But it is fair to say, you are not alone.
I don't doubt they will come eventually, so haven't worried about it too much.

coins are more expensive because Hogwild stuff has to pay me pennys on the dollar!
-
what does the coin look like? Is it a duckling or a frog? If one of those, it is a non trackable coin for you to keep!
Thanks Mama Cache!
It's a frog on one side and a jester/king on the other. The slip in the protector says you can retrieve the code on hogwild's website. Should I try and activate it, or just keep it moving?
I would keep it! It is one of many prince/frog toads that were customized for the guys of the Midwest Geobash. It is non trackable and is usually treated as swag. I don't know who's you have. But when mine is taken out, I hope the person who finds it keeps it.
We have found that the cards in the flips are confusing and are working on solving that problem in the future.
Sorry it confused you. ENJOY!
