  1. I started out with a greyscale and was perfecty happy with it since I didn't know any better. Then I upgraded and also went with a color screen. Last week I bought the same unit except greyscale as a less expensive backup. After using the color I find reading the greyscale a real chore and it takes longer for my eyes to focus in on what I'm looking for. I'll never buy non color again.
  2. Just wondering if anyone here heats their GPS to keep the screen from freezing. I use lithium batteries and power from my sled or bike so the unit runs when it's cold, but the screen freezes around -25C ish which renders it fairly useless most of the time here in Iqaluit. I have a touratech mount on my sled and fastened a handlebar heating element to it. The element is plugged into my thumb throttle warmer control so I have Hi, low, med and off control so I don't freeze it on cold days or cook it on warm days. Works great and I've run a full day at -40 with no trouble.
