  1. For the record, I show 4412 caches archived in Arizona as the result of the State Land Trust's request. Please let me be the first to apologize for jumping on the "panic/mob mentality" band wagon and dropping my better judgement. For that I do apologize. I do stand by my original thoughts of this being a much bigger issue due to many recent reports from states that appear to be taking a similar stance on the geocaching issue. However, that doesn't excuse my finger pointing before doing my homework. Wont happen again. Thank you Moun10Bike for proving that information.
  2. But seeing how these forums are a total waste and are more of a hiding place for trolls than a resource to our game... I shall not waste another moment here. Time to start writing letters. Cheers.
  3. 10000 caches is more than a regional issue. Considering the sheer amount of geocachers who spend half of the year here from all over the states and Canada this is much bigger than that. Shame on you Keystone.
  4. "Lame but harmless" I love it. I believe the question should be "why does this bother me so badly"? Did you talk to the folks who attended? Have you spoken with those who have watched the feed? I was in the chat room for an event like that and it was awesome. There were geocachers from around the globe in there talking and having fun. Are we not supposed to promote a sense of community and fellowship? Just thoughts of.mine...
  5. I am looking to mint coins for the group of hikers I belong to. We embark on a week long trip once a year and want to start making coins for each year. I dont want a million of them. One serial numbered and 2 trackable for each member. (there are five of us) Does anyone know of any coin minter that will accept a smaller job for less than a million dollars(sarcasim)?
  6. I am beginning to look for places to hide our first cache. I have found a spot that would facilitate the idea I want to use but I cant find who owns the land. I have been through the county registrar and surveys and have found nothing. It may be federal land but not a military reservation. There are no "no trespassing" signs or other warnings posted and a pond in the vicinity of my site is fished by the public. Any thoughts? If it is federal land open to the public is there any thing in the rules of the game saying I cant use it?
  7. Thanks for all the insight folks. I will try these suggestions and go from there. My family and I are about to plant our first hide and not sure of the etiquette involved thats not implied in the "rules".
  8. My crew and I are relatively new to the game and have come across numerous wet logs. I have replacement logs available but am not sure on replacement rules due to the "history" aspect of the log. I know I can N/M log but if I have it ready and am there wouldn't it make sense for me to just change it out? What are your thoughts?
