  1. I am new to bench mark hunting and this is my first but cant find a way to log it. is this the real deal or something else? it says bench mark but the only numbers are jon 11 1956. around outside it says water flood control benchmark
  2. not burnt out yet but get a little tired of nanos and magnetics. doesn't anybody get a little more ingenious anymore?. I am working on a couple that will be a little tricky. just trying to put a little fun back into it.
  3. me and the grandkids where in a woodline along a river looking for a cache when a couple pulled up to ask if we where having trouble and if we needed help. When I turned around with a gps in my hands ,she said oh you are just taking pictures. guess you can say I didn't have to lie. But didn't find the cache.
  4. know what you mean. gets old on the light skirts and magnet key holders. I am working on a new one and have been for three weeks. even though I am a newbie I still see the problems we face. I also like caches where you can find and trade something. makes it more inticing to find. I only have two hides and three more to put out. I put a lot of thought in each one and put them in areas where there aren't many close by. downside is people tend to go where they can find a lot on there route. mine has only been found about 4 times. gas prices probably keep them from driving out of there way for just 1 hide.
  5. I use the garmin 1350t nuvi. really does the job. I put it in the window of car and when I get to the hide location I switch it over to pedestrian mode and it will pin point it for me. haven't had a glitch yet.
  6. think when I go I am gonna have my loved ones have a hole drilled into the side of the headstone to hide a micro and have it etched u found it!
  7. I am just getting started in this fun hobby. It gets me out for a little excercise and the grandkids love it too. My question is that I bought a 1350T garmin and this is what I am using. It is basicaly for a auto but when I get close it can be swithed to pedestrian or bike. I only have found 3 caches so far and was wondering if anybody else uses this type outfit. It was a bit expensive at 199 bucks but was wondering if any other devices will help my finds. thanks for any advice and hope to meet some cachers in the future.
