If you dont want to use the site, just post them here. It was just easier to manage all the requests via the site. If you have a membership, please post it there. If not, use this site.
Thanks.

I've often wondered about this. When will be the first time we all get duped by someone?
I would hope that most people would be smarter than that anyway. Considering PayPal is utilized as the main payment method, fraud charges would definitely be pursued should this situation ever occur. Who in their right mind would want to be jailed for $500?
Not many in the USA, but I don't think China would extradite many people. Since a ton of coins are made in China it would not suprise me if some people eventually figure out they can clone the coins and sell them...
This is why it is good to have tracking. You can only have one tracking number

I gave out the first two coins today. As I was talking with them, I joked with them and wondered when the first of these coins would go up on ebay.

At the end of the day, I am asking for choice. If you take a look at zip code 84037, you can see the VE wins hands down. In the Bay Area, where I live now, they are both pretty much the same.
The data sources are different and they will both be adding features to one up the other.
At the end of the day, it doesnt cost Groundspeak any $$ to use VE. A choice is good.
Thanks.

I was wondering if MSN Virtual Earth, http://ve.msn.com/ could be added to the list of other online maps. While Google Maps are good, VE is also good. They are both using different datasources.
So you can see the difference between the two, you can use this:
Here is an example of where VE is a little better then Google:

Just a thought.

I try to buy a couple of extra geocoins to drop in caches. I just put a MD and NJ Geocoin into the wild. I think people are happy to find the MD coin (NJ was just placed tonight).
Of all the Geocoins I have put into the wild, the only one I can think of that has actually gone missing is http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=157441 My brother, as pointed out in another thread, had some Silver USA Geocoins go missing.
With the MD coin, I see 5 people are even watching it. So they are trying to see where it turns up: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=199407 One of my wishes is for the coin to not go to an event. I left this coin at the event and it still hasnt moved: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=157687 but I have my hopes .
Since I also travel around the world for work, I try to drop coins off in other countries. This one placed in Singapore http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=157166 and also this coin http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=97056 On my next trip out, I plan on leaving a MD and NJ coin.
We also plan on placing 10 - 20 Seven Summits Geocoins around the world in hopes people do find them and do move them in caches. With my personal Geocoin, which is being made, I plan to drop at least 100 of them in caches that I visit. I am still wondering if I should make the trade items or travel bugs.
With more people collecting Geocoins, they will be even more rare in the wild.
BTW, for those looking for a .999 Silver Geocoin, I know of one cacher who has one. He says he is going to put it into the first cache he makes. He states he knows it will be stolen but wants to see how far it actually gets. Hopefully, it will move like other TBs.

Sorry about that. We had a script setup to cut over to the ordering page for tomorrow. It went live a little early. We still have over 100 of the 'Silver Coins' avail. The only problem with PayPal is, it doesnt allow you to do 'inventory control'. We are working on a way to make sure we dont exceed the number of payments for the Silver version.
We were planning on posting tomorrow when it went live. Looks like someone beat us to the punch.
Thanks everyone.

I have traveled to China with my GPS and had no problems with customs. Of course, I didnt get searched either .
I dont think you will have problems. Even when standing on a busy street, people just think you are sending SMS like everyone else around.
-
Well. The FAQ I wrote up says anywhere from 100 - 500 coins. I 'think' I made enough coins for those in the Bay Area, well, at least South Bay .

I will enable the rest of the caches on the 1st of Oct, when the rest of the VTA line goes live. Of course, it could take up to a week for them to be approved.

Sad. My brother bought I think 5 of these and put them in caches. They have mostly all gone missing.

We have a new cache coming on-line. So we thought we would put together a geocoin for those who complete it. This might be one of the 'rare' ones out there.

Couple of items.
I would like to know if there is anyway to do a search for Jeep TB only? I have a search but it calls out all TBs. To date, I have found 2 in caches only after going over a few pages of TBs looking for a white Jeep. I was glad to get one as I wanted to enter the contest.
On another note, I did log a Jeep in and out of two different caches. I took the Jeep from the Bay Area to Washington to drop it off but since I didnt have my contest picture, I brought it back with me, so I just logged it at the cache site. So there are sometimes reasons why it goes in and out of a cache.
Good Luck!
Observations On The Personal Coin (pc) Prefix
in Trackables

I think it is a choice. How many coins are out there to trade? How many coins are being released into the 'wild'? How many coins are being sold?
I have read on here people really would like to pick up a coin but they have none to trade. I have read that people would like to buy but they would rather trade one of theirs. Others, just want to find them in caches.
When I buy coins, I try to buy at least 2 of them. 1 to keep and 1 to put in a cache so others can find it. I have sent 6 USA Geocoins on their way. 2 of them are 'missing'. I have sent 1 MD and 1 NJ on their way, people are always happy to find them in caches and move them along, esp the 'rare' ones not found in caches but found on Ebay .
For me, it was a choice. Allow those who want to trade trade, buy buy and find in a cache find in a cache. Since I travel for work and personal, both the US and Asia, I am going to drop mine off while I travel.
Knowing more people are buying over trading, I brought that number high. I have less then a handful of people emailing me to trade.
And even 1 coin we did End Station you cant buy, trade or find in a cache, well at least from us that is!
And yes, it is just PC. I did ask GS if I can do my own, order 1500, and they said no.
