  1. I am new to using GSAK but have become very frustrated. We use PQ's to populate our Garmin with caches. But when I go to remove them from the Garmin they are buried in a GPX file which has many caches I do not want to delete. Is there a way to remove the PQ's in some manner I have not considered? I have called the Garmin customer service area-they are great , but so far, no great answers.
  2. Hi mwellman, Thx so much for your insightful response. All this Challenge verbiage does get confusing. You cut through it nicely. I will take your advice and do some cut and pasting. Thanks again, tomnina
  3. On my profile page is a box labeled "Challenges Completed" with a count of zero. I do not want a souvenir, I would want a number in the box which reflects how many challenges we have completed. Does that make sense? Othewise why have a "Challenges" box?
  4. In April of this year we completed the NJ Delorme Challenge. But our statistics page on Geocaching.com says we have completed zero. Is there a way to let the correct officials know about the completion? We have also completed the Windham County, Vermont challenge. Do county challenges count?
  5. Thanks to all for your responses, we appreciate it. Here's the question(s). When will the Beta maps replace the old maps completely? Will the Beta maps ever have the capability to add numbers to the caches ( a very handy capability) ? And finally, do the programmers at Groundspeak ever pay attention to these posts as a way to improve the product???
  6. For three caches, I would just draw a map. And like you I would just pen it in. In the field I can use the map in the PN-40 also. You can get a "snipping tool" for XP as well. [which is a better screen shot tool..google it]
  7. Before the "upgrade" we could select a map, number the caches on the map, print the map and the accompanying caches and we would use the map and the listed caches as our guide for finding the listed caches. With the new version we can print the map but some of the caches in a printed , i.e., listed form do not print. Example, we print a map with 8 caches, but on the text only 6 caches appear. I hope this helps. We have used pocket queries many times but we have also used a map and printed the map with caches many times. Now we cannot.
  8. Define incomplete? I'm not sure I understand.
  9. When we try to print a map of our desired caches the map prints but the caches, which we number, are incomplete. This never happened in the old version. Is this happening to anyone else? Have you solved the problem? thanks!
  10. We are trying to create a PQ for a route and print the map showing the caches as well as printing the caches for the route in the PQ IN ORDER . In other words we would like to go from point A to B with a map showing the caches along the route and a list of caches, in order, beginning at point A and going to point B. Is this possible? You can respond to tomsingleton@thefinalimage.net if it is helpful.

    Send to GPS

LMAO. Probably the best forum post I have read in.........minutes. I love my Oregon for caching. The paperless feature is great. And yes, I am a big supporter of Wherigo. BUT, when the chips are down and the conditions are poor , the 60 is still my unit of choice. It is 100% reliable. A lot easier on batteries which is a significant issue if you are going into the bush with everything you need for 8 or 10 hours of searching. As I said above, IMHO.

    Send to GPS

Use EasyGPS and set it up so it gives you the hint and name instead of GC number. Once installed, click the tab and it should give you a choice of downloading to EasyGPS. When you get it in EasyGPS send it to your GPS. If you're not a premium member I don't think you'll get the hint but you should end up with the name instead of the GC number
