    Travel Bug Maps

Hi, I was looking at the travel bug maps recently and the "new" maps are good in that they're zoomed in but I also like the "old map" where it shows the whole planet: Some of the bugs that have passed my way need that scale of map to appreciate where they've been. My suggestion is to rename "old map" to "world map" and if you were thinking of dropping support for it simply because its "old", please don't! Having a global perspective is important. -- Sarah
  2. I like the idea of having brochures on hand. Do you have URLs for some?
  3. One good reason is if the bug is put in a cache that isn't accessed for a while; the owner might want to move it to a more active cache.
  4. It says who has the bug if they log it. You can click the name to email them. You can email them and say "um I think you've had my bug for 6 months, would you mind dropping it off somewhere?". How long is too long anyway? I rather like the idea of holding onto the one I've found until I go on my holiday in about a month; where I can drop it off at a more distant cache.
  5. Perhaps the trick would be for the site to be modified to have a "Saw but left" option. Personally with the current setup I'd add a comment/note to the log saying I'd seen it but not log it in a way that clocks up the stats if I didn't take it.

    New Tb Design

Something that might help (which you may already do but it's not obvious from the web site without having an unreported bug to report), is offer the option of a simple mailing address for people who accidentally find bugs to post the bug to. The ideal is for them to put it in another cache but if a muggle finds one it'd be good to have it posted back to Groundspeak.
  7. Hi all, I bought my eTrex Summit a few months ago to add something to bushwalking and hiking. Recently a friend suggested I might like Geocaching... so I took a look and this weekend SatyricTim and I tried it out and it's so much fun! What a great addition to bushwalks; to find out bits of historical information, to find treasures hidden along the way, etc. We've found 3 of the 4 caches we've looked for so far and look forward to finding many more! Anyway I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself here. I do computer programming for work so outdoor recreation is pretty much a must I enjoy gadgets, movies, books, etc. and I also enjoy walking and cycling.. so adding Geocaching to this list seems inevitable!
