  1. Mr. Vegas gave me an A+ for having an Meridian also I like it so much I bought a Meridian Color for back up. But one thing that concerns me is the software. Will I not be able to get the updated Directroute software anymore? What does it all mean Basil?
  2. To find the longitude and latitude of an address?
  3. I use an ATEN USB to Serial adapter and it workes great (eBay dot com) It acts like a serial port and once you play with it for a bit you'll figure it out. Mine works flawlessly.
  4. OK so I use a Meridian Platinum usually. I love it and thought it would be cool to have to color version so I bought it. When I boot it it tells me "NA M _Marine-1.07" at the bottom of the screen. Does that mean it has the marine base map on it? Can I change that? What is the difference between Marine and Land? (Please don't jump at the chance to make this a stupid question ) I ask that because I use DirectRoute and I have noticed nothing different with the maps. I'm also disappointed it does not have an electronic compass on it
  5. I can't get it to update the firmware. It sees it and starts the process but the GPS never goes into software upload mode. ANy ideas?
  6. I bought one on these forums for $20.00 and it's awesome! Do a search on eBay for PEG-S360. It's perfect for what we do and fairly inexpensive. Make sure you read the description and check the seller's feedback of course. That Z22 by palm is pretty awesome also.
  7. My piece of cr_p Meridian Platinum can lock on to satellites while sitting on my kitchen counter, next to my computer, and in the bathroom if I need it to That's one heck of a receiver!!
  8. Hey putting it in the main memor worked. Thanks!
  9. I used to use Streets and Trips with my Magellan SporTrak Map and my laptop. I would plug the GPS in to the laptop to get to where I needed to be and then took the GPS with me to find the cache. Then I bought a Meridian Platinum and got a copy of DirectRoute so all that routing stuff is all on my GPS. I feel bad for the laptop because I never use it anymore. Then I bought an HP rx3715 for paperless caching. So I used GPXSonar and the MeriPlat to get er done. I recently acquired a Sony Clie for $20.00 so I will use that one on those tougher, wetter caches. That will keep me from worrying about the HP PocketPC. I also plan to upgrade my MeriPlat to a Meridian Color just for the heck of it.
  10. I installed Cachemate and then MathLib. The only way I know how to install it is to move the .prc file over to my PalmOne quick install and then sync my device. Am I doing that right?
  11. It's installed on my Palm but when I try to find the nearest caches with Cachemate it tells me "This function Requires MathLib To Be Installed". What's up?
  12. I have been there. The only thing they offer is updates to software they think I already have. I think. Am I missing something?
  13. I bought a Clie from another cacher. I am 100% satisfied with it but I can't find any of the software for it. I it the PEG S360. I would like to sync it and find driver but neither Sony's site or Palm's site are very giving on info on this piece. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
  14. Sorry Zsand, but that sounds like too much fun to draw. I hope it's OK to draw your idea..... Wow that is awesome!
  15. Do you guys realize how bad it will be when Geocaching gets commercialized (or just really popular). This will end in tears I just know it. We'll have to buy geocaching licenses like we buy fishing licenses.
  16. I just realized that Summit is totally photo shopped
