  1. Geocaching accounts and Adventure Lab accounts are one and the same; if you created a new account within the Adventure Lab app -- you've created a new (secondary) Geocaching account. Your login/password for your Geocaching account (geocaching.com or the Geocaching mobile app) should be the same you use for the Adventure Lab app. If you've misplaced your Geocaching password -- you could reset it using the option on the login screen. Once you have reset your password -- that login would work in the Geocaching and Adventure Lab apps. You would need to "re-Experience" the Adventure Lab in your "true" account, in order for it to show on the Profile where your existing Geocaching finds are recorded/logged.
  2. No - it is something that is entirely optional; there are many Adventure Labs that do not have "Bonus Caches" associated with them.
  3. If you bring up the list of nearby Adventure Labs - and swipe left on the one(s) you tested/demo'd -- do they disappear from the list?
  4. Updates will be posted here -> https://wiki.Groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Ontario#Ontario-covid19 -- however, if you have notifications enabled ... chances are you'll be alerted quickly once the backlog of caches is Published.
  5. "Test" URLs are for testing; if you've tested an Adventure for someone - swipe left on the Adventure to remove it from your completed list in the Adventures app. After - you get to head back out and revisit the stages in "true play mode" and answer the questions to earn your "Smilies" and increase your find count.
  6. 1) Adventure Labs have locations that you should need to visit, to "Unlock" a prompt that will request you for information that can be found at that location. Successfully entering the required information at the prompt will be considered as completion of that stage/location. Geocachers may opt to hide a Mystery/Unknown cache (eg a physical container) and list it on the Geocaching dot com site -- however, that physical element will be subjected to the guidelines and will need to respect proximity (e.g. the 161m/528ft rule). 2) Adventure Labs themselves currently should not involve physical placements (e.g. containers) - so, they are "virtual" stages - and virtual stages do not need to follow the 161m/528ft proximity approach that applies to "classic" geocaching. 3) Adventure Labs are likely to be enjoyed by more people if they are walkable - as this allows people without transportation methods to play - however, Adventure Labs can also require travel between stages/locations that necessitate a vehicle. 4) The number of stages in an Adventure Lab is set by HQ, based on the award itself (e.g. individual, special arrangement) - however, they are typically 5 stages. 5) Adventure Labs are handled differently from classic geocaching finds; they have no associated log within the confines of Geocaching dot com and may appear to be categorized differently depending on how the data from the "back end" (API) is displayed by a partner site/app. As Adventure Labs are currently not using physical placements, if you wished to hide a cache with multiple physical stages (assuming there is only a log to be signed in the final stage) then it is most likely a Multi-cache; the cache type would also largely depend on whether you needed to visit the posted coords to start the hunt - and whether the information to proceed to the next stage(s) could be found easily at the following stage(s).
  7. The Adventure creator can choose when the stages need to be visited in order (sequentially) - or in any order (you choose as the Player, based on your preference/proximity). If the Adventure is linear/in sequential order... then you could in theory be standing on top of "a later stage" - and the prompt for the answer will not appear - until you have visited/correctly answered the pre-requisite stage(s). Adventures that have "grey" dots on the map are linear/sequential order experiences -- you have to find and answer the current stage (shown as an orange dot), before the next stage is unlocked.. If the Adventure is not linear/in sequential order - you'll know because the dots on the map are all "orange" - and you can choose the one you wish to find - in any order.
  8. From memory.... (as I can't test this right now!). When you test the Adventure - the creator should send you a "Test Link" - use that to test the Adventure - not the QR Code on the main Adventure screen - otherwise.. you've "Logged It". If they make changes to the Adventure - delete the Test link - generate a new one. Once you've tested using a test link (or test QR code) -- In the app - go to the screen where you see the Adventure you completed... and touch it.. and swipe left. That will delete the Test attempts from the app - without deleting your "true finds" made without a test link.
  9. On the Leaderboard page at the bottom of the screen should be a "Download completion statistics" button. It's an XML file - so don't expect it to be formatted -- however, opening that file in a text editor/notepad/Microsoft Word/Wordpad/Open Office should show each of the stages that was found, by who and when.
  10. Forums for working on puzzles can become problematic spoiler... as the magic of Google can effectively ruin the puzzle for anyone else who is looking for the same GC code :-) Admittedly there are already (regrettably) many puzzle spoiler resources out there — it’s typically something I encourage people to ask other cachers in their local group or community. Let’s face it.. once someone posts in a forum, it’s pretty much going to be obvious to a CO that someone might have had “help” — so I typically go with the “ask the CO for a hint” route anyway! There are likely to be experienced puzzlers in your local group or region; I’d probably ask there for a hint - or check local events to see who may have run/be running a puzzle workshop.
  11. In the Adventures app, press an Adventure and on the main screen of the Adventure.. you'll see "Activity" on the left under the main graphic. If you press Activity - you'll see comments left by previous Adventurers. (As for the Ratings - I believe those are anonymous; if someone were to rate an Adventure in a manner that a creator didn't appreciate.. it would likely reduce contention of 'knowing who it was' ! )
  12. You can click here -> https://www.geocaching.com/play/search?ot=4&types=3653&pe=1 to see Published Community Celebration Events, starting with the closest to your home coords.
  13. This link will give you the caches in British Columbia, sorted by date (earliest first) : https://www.geocaching.com/play/search?ot=4&r=64&sort=PlaceDate&asc=True This link will do the same for Washington https://www.geocaching.com/play/search?ot=4&r=48&sort=PlaceDate&asc=True and this for Oregon https://www.geocaching.com/play/search?ot=4&r=38&sort=PlaceDate&asc=True As for your Jasmer qualifiers -- it'll depend on the gaps that you need to fill - however it should be fairly easy to find them using the search filters above.
  14. If someone uses the Test link/QR code to try out an Adventure - they can "left swipe" the Adventure in their mobile app to remove it once done - it's just a "Test". At that point, actually "doing the real Adventure" (from the map - not the test link) should reward them with their Smileys.
  15. I don't *know* -- but I can make a pretty good guess. "Smart apostrophes" may be the root cause; there are situations where I have seen someone begins to type words (e.g. "Roget's Thesauraus") on an iPhone and the device sees the first few letters (e.g. "R-o-g") and it decides to be helpful and fill in the rest automagically. Well, it seems that smart apostrophe can be interpreted different by some apps/software in a way that's different from if someone simply typed it in manually. To us - the input looks the same; to the device - the smart apostrophe and manual apostrophe could be interpreted different - which doesn't help when you try to have things match. As you're suggesting it works on iPhones -- was the Adventure Lab created/updated with an Apple iOS device? (It might be an idea for HQ to recommend answers with apostrophes not be used, because of such anomalies). https://www.howtogeek.com/344310/how-to-turn-off-smart-punctuation-on-your-iphone-and-ipad/ https://studentaid.gov/help/smart-punctuation
  16. In your Adventures app, go to the test-Adventure you had completed - press the right side of the menu item for that Adventure - swipe left - and you should be able to remove/delete it. That should remove it from your Adventure lab list. You should then be able to press the Discover item - put your finger on the middle of the screen and drag down - and that Refresh should show the to-be-completed Adventures nearby.
  17. To find local Adventure Labs, I would recommend pressing the "Discover" button in the Adventures app, vs. using the "Explore" button. If they don't appear... I'm not sure what device you are using (Apple/Android) - so some generic "other things to try" : First steps would be to make sure you have the latest version of the app; either through the App Store or the Google Play store. Secondly, make sure you haven't disabled/restricted the ability for the app to use the GPS/Location Services. Lastly - Sign Out of the app and back in again. Perhaps you'll get joy from one of those?
  18. N41.40931985 W -9780027702 should be N41.40931985 W -97.80027702 - there's an extra . in there. You can go into Google and simply paste the coordinates (N41.40931985 W -97.80027702) to see the location directly.Alternatively, you can visit a website such as http://boulter.com/gps/ where you can type your coordinates in the box in the top left; when you hit the button to Convert and Map - you will see a few different conversions of your coordinates appear underneath.Streets and Trips should be able to deal with the ones under the heading "GPS" - e.g. N 41 24.559 W 97 48.017
  19. If you head to https://labs.geocaching.com/ and log in - you can click on the down arrow in the top right. Click on View Logs That will show you the progress you've made with Adventures (and Lab caches). If you have completed several stages/stops in an Adventure - you'll see them in that list. That will give you peace of mind before you experiment with your phone - you won't lose those completed stages/stops. If there is a bug in the app (or an incompatibility with that version of iOS) - hopefully HQ can address it. You could ask someone who has a different device to accompany you to that location; load the app on their device. You can then log in with your Player account on their device - and complete the Adventure in the meantime.
  20. There is already one there... http://coord.info/GC7WEPX - placed by the fellow who posted the original forum post (@Juicepig) that was eluded to in the audio clip!
  21. When a cache is Archived, it is considered to be a permanent action. That being said, if a cache owner Archives a cache (e.g. accidentally) - they can reach out to a Reviewer to request that the cache be assessed, to determine if it can be Unarchived. Caches cannot be Unarchived for the purposes of Adoption. If a Reviewer performed the Archive action, they would be the best contact for the cache owner. If a Player performed the Archive action, the original Publishing Reviewer could be contacted -- or any other member of the regional Reviewer team. For Ontario, the Reviewers are CacheDrone, CacheMinder and CacheShadow. Only a cache owner can request that their own cache to be Unarchived; in other words, no-one should request that a cache belonging to another Player be Unarchived.
  22. If you host an event -- you're at the event (or you should be!!!!) - and you are encouraged to log an Attend! Once you do that - the souvenir should be awarded today. See : https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=80

  24. I'm not sure if that's a count that's refreshed by "the system" after a certain period of time -- or, if you've created a glitch in the matrix! Contacting Geocaching HQ might be the quickest route to guidance -- visit http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=request and choose option 8 and then "Other" would be my suggestion.
  25. The policy says "Remove trade items", which includes trackables.
