  1. Maybe it could be a liar's cache where every once in a while someone gets nominated to claim a find even if they haven't been within miles of the place? Does anyone really care who made a mistake and hung on to a coin/bug too long, as long as they get back in to circulation at some point it is all part of the journey, as there is no timescale set, it doesn't matter
  2. If you wish to cache in order you should, its what ever you make it. No rules that I know of....
  3. No charge what-so-ever, if you are out caching and fancy a cuppa, you can drop in.
  4. Once a month I hold a non-profit making bushcraft and wilderness skills meeting in a woods near Milton Keynes, we stay there for 3 days, camping in the woods. We are surrounded by caches so I was thinking of offering an open kettle event to cachers in the area so anyone caching close by can pop in for a quick brew (free of course), is this doable within guidelines or not? (bring your own mug)!
  5. Hi all, just a quicky. I am an engineer by trade and have tools / machines at home so I can make some pretty cool caches and I enjoy making / hollowing out all sorts of things. Is it fair to place one of my completely unexpected caches without letting on, I mean most people are expecting to find a tupperware box with a bright blue lid pretty much in plain view. I could put a note in the listing but I feel this would spoil it for other cachers that enjoy the hunt. The most recent cache was a micro hidden in a 4 foot object in plain view, infact it sticks out like a sore thumb, so far 2 dnf and found twice, we all know if 2 have said dnf there was a lot more. What I'm getting at is I don't want to waste peoples time but I also don't want to spoil it for the more dedicated "hunters". Fair play or not?
  6. Just checked my unit, I can confirm you get page info.
  7. Hid my first after about 10 finds, don't see as it matters as long as you read the guidelines, it's proving a popular cache! I've hidden a few now and enjoy this as much as finding. My advice would be contact a local hider and ask them to help with your first if you are unsure, there are some amazing ideas for hides on this forum.
  8. Doh.... you spotted my deliberate mistake! Day of the week now checked and the email arrived straight away! Unzipped, dropped in to gps and bingo, I now have 500 caches to play with Cant thank you enough, this has been bugging me for a whille. Happy hunting!!
  9. Thanks for the help! I have run the pocket querie and got this message, "Thanks! Your pocket query has been saved and currently results in 500 caches. You can preview the search on the nearest cache page." I am guessing this will be emailed to me? (I have set to send zipped .gpx) If and when it arrives can I drag and drop it straight in to my gps? Thanks
  10. Hi all, I've tried searching for the answer and drew a blank so thought I'd ask here for some help! I have a Dakota 20 and I'm a paid member, can I bulk download caches straight to the gps, it works fine if I download them singularly but cant see how to bulk? From this page I can multi check boxes to select lots of caches at once "Geocaching > Hide and Seek A Geocache > Search For Geocaches", if I try to "download waypoints" all that happens is I get the option to have a .loc file download to my pc, nothing to the gps? Can anyone help please?
  11. I always lurk for a while before getting involved with any forum Been caching now for only a few weeks, quite enjoying it as it gives me a reason to get out of the house with my son and is a cheap hobby. I am specialising in sneaky hides as there are far to many tupperware boxes, three more going out tonight! Got some great ideas off here for sneaky's and I'm developing a few ideas myself
