  1. No, just recreational, automotive, stopwatch, small data fields, large datafields, geocaching, geocaching-detail, elevation plot.
  2. I don’t have a plain compass option to select from (recreational, automotive, stopwatch, small data fields, large data fields, geocaching, geocaching-detail, elevation plot) but automotive seemed to do the trick. I wish I didn’t have to switch back and forth, but it is what it is. Since there’s an extra digit in the position format in the unit compared to what we use in geocaching - hddd•mm.mmmm vs. hddd•mm.mmm - do you just enter 0? Again, thanks so much for being so helpful and patient.
  3. I loaded some caches onto my gps via GSAK and that part works fine. If I manually load a waypoint, then go to the compass for navigation, the compass takes me to the nearest GSAK loaded cache instead of the manually loaded waypoint I’m trying to navigate to. I think I have an incorrect setting somewhere but I can’t figure out where.
  4. Before I emailed the file to you, I decided to go through the whole build file in GSAK, send to GPSr process again and now I can see everything. Thank you so much for your time and patience.Thank you so much for your time and patience.
  5. I corrected the zoom setting and the 2 caches 20 miles away from me now appear on the map. I looked at the filter settings and everything is selected to appear but I’m not seeing the faraway caches on the map - just 4 waypoints containing parking coords. Thank you for your patience - this is very frustrating.
  6. When I use search near or scroll the map over to the area that’s supposed to have the caches, there’s nothing there. And search near yields the original change search parameters error. I would think spell search would retrieve them also, but it doesn’t.
  7. So you’re saying the caches I can’t see now will appear when I’m closer to the area they’re in? Are the 62 series the same way? I’m not sure I like that.
  8. You’re on the right track. I made a new .gpx file consisting of two caches about 20 miles from me, sent it from GSAK to the 64s and 2 caches show up. Yay! But the problem is... I can’t find anywhere in the gps settings to allow caches that are farther away. Ideas?
  9. I just got a 64s and I’m trying to load some caches via a .gpx file and GSAK. There’s no error on the GSAK end, but the 64s says “No results found Try Adjusting Search Parameters “ and no caches show, even though I see the file in the Gpx folder when I connect the unit to my computer. It’s not like they’re there but too far away to show up unless I pan over to that area - there’s nothing on the map. I also sent that same .gpx file to my old 60CSx with no problem. The preloaded caches were very annoying on the 64s, so the first thing I did was delete the preload.ggz and preload.ver files, but now I’m afraid that might have been a mistake. How do I adjust the search parameters?Suggestions?
  10. We (lostlookingforyou and I) found a dead body in a cemetery on the 4th of July. There are lots of dead bodies in cemeteries but this one was above ground... PCC Forums
  11. The site has been down about a week and geocaching.com has even dropped the link from their software page. I had just read that there was a new version that would export a gpx file and I wanted to download it, but the site was already down or gone or whatever! Does anyone know how to download a gpx file from Sonar? I really like the Express Logger but it requires a gpx file.
  12. About once every three or four months, I'll receive an email from a cacher that I don't know asking for help that requires meeting or suggesting that we meet to cache together. This makes me really uncomfortable but I don't want to discourage any new cachers (but I also don't want to star on the 5:00 news..), so I usually suggest that we meet at an event. I also go on geocaching.com and check out their profile but that information is extremely limited and who knows if the individual is telling the truth or not? So far, no one has ever shown up at an event, so it makes me feel less guilty about feeling so suspicious. My question is, do you guys get contacted like this, too and how do you handle it?
  13. I always copied and pasted the Mapquest maps into my PDA but I can't seem to do that with these new maps - ARGH! I don't want to go back to paper!!!
  14. Is there any software that will let you load the MapQuest maps generated from the geocaching.com website onto a PalmOS?
