Great point! This is most likely the case in my situation. Areas change, different people move in, and things that were tolerated at one point may not be anymore.

I learned about the perfect storm today! I went to a large wooded area next to a house at the end of a street and a woman stopped me. She said the cache was gone because of development nearby and the woods were used for dealing drugs and dumping trash. She wasn’t pleasant and I think she hides out and waits for cachers to pull up, then gets out to say something! I think what bothered me the most is that the CO stated in the description that it was a “quick park and grab on a street with light traffic. Great for novices.” I let my guard down thinking I was in a safe, beginner zone. I don’t think I’ve been caching in any areas near a house like that before. The street was somewhat rural and off the beaten path and the people that live in that house probably do so to avoid people entirely. At least I know to avoid this type of cache in the future.
