Goto 'My Account' On the right hand side under "Account Options" click "Edit My Profile" Under "Preferences" (2nd block) click the Preferred Units: (right under timezone setting) then select metric. Did that looooong time ago. But it does not change the units on the "View Trackable Item Details" page.

Well, I do know that! But still, kilometers i more familiar to most people in the world...

I can't find a way to see the traveled distance in kilometers for the travelers. Since most of the world uses kilometers that would be a nice feature...

You can actually buy a couple of "GPS" devices in SL (for a few Linden $), but they are not of much use for SLGeocaching yet. But with more SL People the demand will grow There are still some issues with the placing of caches since the landowners have to approve and secure the placing so that the "box" doesn't get automatically removes etc etc. I think it is quite fun, but I wouldn't abandon the First Life caching! Good thing that you are not forced to choose... Don't forget that you also might attract some nerds from SL to actually get out caching in the real world and hence live a more healthy life

Everything that actually can inspire people to pick up some trash is one step in the right direction! I was part organizer for a CITO event here in Sweden and I am quite disappointed by the number of cachers who joined. And we where sponsored by the city of Gothenburg and all...

I am also curious Which one of the CITO-events had most attendants? I hope there is a statistics nerd out there to tell BTW I was one of the organizers of the only Swedish CITO-event Göteborg, Städ Stad which was no succes regarding the number of attendees. But we had excellent weather and a good time anyway!
