  1. i have been thinking about this for quite some time, and i will try to get one up, as soon as i get a location, its just with the torist, and new yorkers, so paranoid its realy hard to place any cache, but i will try to set up something like liz's joules only larger just for TB's
  2. I whould suggest the Bryant Park Micro or LF's Snack, the bryrant park micro is close to where you will be but if you head up town a little bit more you can hit LF's Snack, and then ofcourse there is the park. I belive the zip code down there is 10016 but a my be mistaken.
  3. i thought they didnt even let people go to the statue of liberty anymore, i think you may just be able to look at it from the ferry .....to be honest i am a native new yorker and i never went to it as a youngin' and now i dont think i whill ever be able too.
  4. my suggestion whould be to but a javascript counter in your page so you can see who is visiting the page. Geocaching supports HTML (which is surpising in some ways) and so you should be able to do that.....please someone correct me if i am wrong about the site supporting such and app
  5. i too whould like to know who is watching, my caches but for me just out of curisoity. i think you may want to contact your local reviewer and they should be able to help you out.
  6. I would mirror Mile Runner and say that beta is beta. Once they release the final we'll look into it. Until then it could just as easily be an issue with how IE7 interprets html display and it would be silly to adjust to broken code. thanks jeremy, i am a little bit in shock that you agreed with me, i am not used to seeing you post in the forum even though you do it all the time. but i guess my opion is just that way because i am trainign to be a webmaster
  7. IE 7 is stilll in beta, the web community is still transfering over, you cant expect a browser that isnt even 3 months old to be fully compatible.
  8. hi, i am a cacher who lives in NYC so if you need any help just email me, but i whould suggest not driving in NYC its not a good idea, no one in the city owns a car, but i do suggest you stay in mannhatttan as it will be a little more tourist friendly. there are some chaches in Central park, but in my opion that kind of whimpy, there are normal chaces that happen to be in NYC, there are some other ones in the streets that i have set up on the upper east side there are also so nice micros both in downtown and west side. you of course can find the ones in central park but if you whould like to try some urban caching, i suggest you try to find one of mine or one of the other ones in the city. oh and congradlations to your daughter for performing at carnigie, i only have performed at stienway.
  9. your local reveiw may just be overloaded, paintence is a virtue
  10. i always try to make mine relay obiviously caches, either by butting multiple stickesrs on it one making it florence organge . my thereory is who in there right mind whould make a florecent orange bomb.
  11. as an urban cacher i am always realy worried about one of my geocaches being called in as a bomb.
  12. i am a NYC Cacher . i whould suggest just hitting the ones in central park. Peter Pan is a good one, and is only a couple of blocks from where i live. when caching in the city just be ready for a couple of strange looks . of coarse if you have lived in the city a while a coulple of strange looks are nothing out of the norm . but do try to carry ID as the cops and redents of the city are bit paranoid. mike
  13. i like both the ideas above
  14. but there are none in the very limited geocaching database?
  15. I do not mean to sound naive but are there bench marks in the Virgin Islands. I assumed that there where but looking at the cache descriptions I do not see anything that says "nearest benchmarks." here is an example of one of the caches down there "Jacks Stash" (GCNV68). I do not see it maybe there is another way to find benchmarks or maybe they do not exist down here.
  16. i dont know if this is true or not, but i would belive that the rate of new cachers spikes right after the holiday season. Does anyone know if this is true or not. thanks
  17. you should also always download the picture before putting it up. running it off thier server is just stealing bandwidth (a sure fire way to piss of a webmaster) and there for you are at the mercy of them not changing the location of the image or even deleting it
  18. all of my caches so far are 1/1 thank you all for your responses
  19. you whould need to but that in the note to the reivewer and then it whould be the reviewers call. that is one cache like that on st. coix where the owner is only down there ever 4 months. but thats an interesting qustion and i am interested in what some of the more experienced cachers will say
  20. is there a way to tell who is on your caches watchlist. i am always realy interested when it way there are Xnumber of people watching this cache, and its not me. im just wondering. ~mile runner
