I tried the GPSbabel and i sucessfully convereted the .loc file to a .upt file, i loaded it on the the SD card but the explorist will not recognize the file. I can not see or acess the file when trying to read it through the GPS. Any suggestions?

I just bought an Explorist 500 and i want to load waypoints and other information neccissary for geocaching. I have had trouble using the software provided by magellan and i am wondering if anyone knows an easier way to do this. I mean im looking for something that an idiot can figure out, i dont mind not haveing all the bells and whistles, i just looking for convience. ............................Also is there a cheeper way to get the turn by turn map info other then buying the Mapsend Direct Route software from magellan. Im a broke college student that just wants to find his way.

I am looking for new and exciting places to hike. I want a challenging terrain and a difficult cache. I would like top explore some new areas around the state. Does anyone have any ideas? I live in syracuse and im willing to travel.
