  1. No, it was my fault Possum Hunter, I jumped the gun and assumed something that wasnt there so lets see if we can get this thing back on track.
  2. I had actually had tried to post thru my phone a few days earlier but only ended up quoting. Anyway let me try this again by starting out saying that i am in probably way too many forums but usually they go south when someone tosses in a one liner few understand. I think Cheech and Chongs last movie was in what 84? so excuse me for letting that one slip by...anyway, i did jump to conclusions and now must man up and apologize for that. I really am sorry ..Manville Possum Hunter...for jamming you up like that, i really should not be jumping to conclusions. What say you???
  3. Please, continue with the personal insults. Only I have to fear the moderators on this site. Why would you find it hard to belive that I own a computer? Am I not allowed to post in YOUR forum? I'm a Cheech & Chong fan dude. It's me, Dave! Now let me in!
  4. So let me get this straight... we got two pages of bantering back and forth...everyones having fun, then suddenly a possum hunter comes in, and cant resist telling all of us the bad news. So with his best one liner...the very best..he can come up with is to inform us all that "Daves not here man"??? WOW!! we havent figured that one out yet, and thanks to you manville we are all on the right path now and can go about our daily lives...i dont know how we coped without someone like you shaking us back to reality. I find it hard to believe you own a computer dude. I guess you possum hunters are some real animated characters eh?? I can see it now..."Hey Dave... look up that tree...see anything?...nope no possum here man."
  5. Hey Dragonswest i got news for ya those three names Anthony, Thomas and Ryan are also obsolete these days the latest names are now Aiden,Jacob,Jackson,Ethan and Jaydon......personally i like mine....."Bucket"... its original...it rolls off the tongue just right and fits my personality to a tee and i have never had anyone say "you know...you dont look like a "Bucket"
  6. Did i mention that the pair of "high quality jogging shoes" had the name "Greg" sewn onto them.........Maybe we could find this particular Gre............JUST KIDDING !!!!
  7. Yeah that is strange...HH242 finds one of our "Geo-Boxes" which is a direct result from an idea given to us by a chance meeting in the desert with Dave, which brings me here to investigate just exactly how "nosy" you folks are so in turn i can modify my game so more of my boxes do not get found before its time, so i post up a (true) story of that meeting and you folks find the guy...proving that i do indeed need to step up my game if i want these boxes to remain un-found for long periods of time because you folks are far more advanced of anything i had anticipated, i dont even know how SwineFlew managed to find pictures of Dave, but to you folks its all in a days work. Boomer just confirmed that is indeed Daves last name so the 1% has just been erased. 100% Found............SwineFlew= WINNER !!!!!
  8. I do believe that everbody does know a Dave, i work with one, so consider this, on wednesday i throw up an old story about meeting a geo cacher way out in the desert by the name of Dave and by friday someone found him, how freeking amazing is that!!!!! I cant wait to tell Boomer about this one.
  9. I had to re-type this post three times because its hard to type when your laughing so hard....Blue Deuce you crack me up..."can i keep him" now thats funny!!! The picture SwineFlew just posted up to me still looks like Dave but theres still 1% that it might not be, for one thing my photographic memory is now so bad i'm down to "black and white" and i only met him once for a total of about 45 minutes almost three years ago but i'm still leaning to that being him......FINAL ANSWER.....that....is....Dave.
  10. Well.......................i would have to say.................YES !! now keeping in mind the photo is small so i cant really recognize the face too much and it was a few years ago but what i do remember is that he told me his wife had passed away and geo caching keeps him occupied since he is retired, also i remember what a beautiful quad he had, and the brand which is a common brand but not that common in the 4x4 models which if someone posted up claiming to be Dave then i could use that question to verify the authenticity. But i would put this at 99% that this indeed is "THE DAVE" which means once verified, that Swineflew wins the prize!! BlueDeuce...nope not him. But i gotta say this post has been one heck of alot of fun and you guys are truly great at this game!!!
  11. Well on google earth i can find where his quad was parked but since i didnt see where boomer tracked him down...which was a few hundred yards or so away up and over one hillside that i dont know. his quad was at 35.02.56.32N ish x 114.26.28.10W. Bucket
  12. The photos are dated 2-25-08, so in and around that week and also since some time has gone by he did say his name was "David" and last time we were in Bullhead i called him but he said he was out of town that week so we missed him....very cool guy though, and loves geo caching.
  13. BlueDeuce...I've got it down as being in 08 but it seems to me it was atleast 3 yrs ago, so I will check the dates on my photos tomorrow and get back to you on that one.
  14. Well, Dave is a full time geo cacher (not many people can claim that) so we dont need to make it too easy. As for the Dave Ulmer thing...thats pretty cool i did not know that. Dragonswest...being a lifelong explorer i know you gotta have some great stories, now a post thats about a great cache is always cool, but you regulars probably tire of the same ol questions and posts and finds dont you? Lets change lanes here and throw in a few cool stories about our quests i know i'd like to hear some from a lifelong explorer or even someone who managed to bungle their first outing ever...hey, funny is funny.
  15. Packanack... i didnt have a pump because the UTV was a rental, because normally i carry several pumps...one in each vehicle, they are cheap so why not, its better than trying to remember to take the pump each time i use a different vehicle. Andronicus...No its not Ulmer. Hoosierguy....you read my mind !! But i'm not new to forums, most of the ones i frequent turn into a slugfest by the second post so this place is very docile in comparison. So i will keep throwing the stories out there and see what happens, i'm not exactly a geo cacher (i'm a prospector) so i will try to fit in. Bucket
  16. Eddie your welcome anytime, the folks on facebook are from all over the US, most of our page is about gold prospecting but i would like more geo-cachers in there to mix it up. Hydnsek... you are correct we do bury most of the boxes thats why i was surprised when one was found although that one was covered with rocks not really buried, but also thats one reason we do our thing out in the desert... typically in gold prospecting areas where diggings and holes and such are common, and when the rains come, the holes left by drywashers and gold prospectors fill in.
  17. My pleasure....we're here every thursday....try the veal !!
  18. One day a few years ago Boomer and i were out testing a polaris UTV, we were in Bullhead AZ and since the UTV was a rental i thought i was smarter than the average bear and would bring along a plug kit in case of a flat tire, well 10 miles into the hills...while exploring an old gold mining area, we were coming out of a mine shaft when we noticed the UTV had a flat tire...AHH-HAA!!!...Bucket to the rescue!! i pull out my plug kit and get ready to plug the tire, (it had a small puncture in it) when a very realistic and horrible thought came to mind....I FORGOT A PUMP !!!! and we are in the middle of nowhere (at first i thought ..well Boomers full of hot air, surely he could blow up a tire) As unbelievable as it may seem.. we stumbled upon a miracle...no, not a pair of high quality jogging shoes for the marathon hike we had ahead of us!! But further up the dry streambed or wash as we call it was a very nice Quad with no one near it, now assuming how well setup this quad was we new the owner had to have a pump we could borrow but he was nowhere in site, well Boomer tracked him down a few hundred yards away curiously looking in one particular spot, well he stopped what he was doing and promptly helped us out with our dilema, after the tire was pumped up and holding air we asked him what he was doing and he said..."Geo-Caching" this was very strange for two gold prospectors to comprehend, that the idea is to go out and find something of no value and then put it back but there must be something to this "Geo-caching thing because this guy says he does it 4-5 times a week...all day...and loves it!!! anyway to make a long story longer we decided to look into the geo-caching craze and found that if we put our own twist to it, that its a blast of fun. And now its a part of our regular routine, and it all started with a flat tire, a super cool guy named Dave and a fun game called "Geo-Caching" and i know Dave reads these forums so i'm hoping he will see this post, Thanks again Dave...You Rock !! sorry we missed you last time and we definitely will be having that steak dinner in december when we roll back up to Bullhead. PS. I have Dave's phone number but just to see how good he really is i figured to make this post a kind of "verbal geo-cache" lets see if he can find this one buried in the forums...good luck Bucket.
  19. I prefer to make my "Geo-Boxes" out of wood, it kind of gives it a personal touch, i try to make them as high quality as i can, i am in the process right now of making 10 new ones to be hidden in the Bullhead AZ area in december. When i'm done i will try to post up a photo of one, they will look really nice. Bucket
  20. That is very...very cool, it gives me some good ideas, maybe i could do one with rocks and leave it in plain site......1- saw,1-diamond blade and badda bing a cool stash. There's always someone raising the bar. Bucket
  21. Let me also add that as strange a story as this is, I just gotta laugh when I think...maybe its not as strange... as finding a box that a guy named George (Geo) might have buried, or even finding someones ashes in an urn. NOW THATS STRANGE!!! Bucket.
  22. Thanks gang! I have been consulting with HH242 ever since he found us on facebook (and put an end to the mystery of what it was that he had found) to get a better idea of how geo-cachers think and thats exactly what he told me its all about the hunt or as you put it the mystery. Thats exactly what our game is, we dont give any coordinates you just watch the video and the clues are in the landscape, we actually show us burying the boxes and then show the area the rest is up to the viewer to spot the landmark. But unlike geo-caching your supposed to keep the entire box, contents and all and send us a picture we can post up.(for bragging rights). It was an idea we came up with to kind of make a gold prospecting/ geo-caching video that lets you....the viewer...be a part of the end, and get credit for your perserverence and hard work in our future videos by showing your photo in the video. How fun is that? But its all still in the editing phase when HH dropped the bomb that he found one of our geo-boxes, luckily he did take a photo of him finding it and he left it in play...thank you HH. Bucket
  23. Sorry for all the mystery there folks, but it seems HH242 stumbled upon one of our "Geo-Boxes" which essentially is a promotion. in our gold prospecting video we hide 9 of these geo-boxes for those that watch the video they can gather clues within the video and go out and find the boxes which contain mostly Bucket & Boomer shirts, beenies, boonie hats and tank tops. the idea is to take the entire box....its yours. Luckily HH242 kept it in play because the video isnt even out yet. To my knowledge none of the other 8 have been found. I new the geo-cache community was good but even thats an understatement i will have to re-think my next round of 10 boxes. You guys are good !!! Once again....sorry for the mystery.
