  1. Got back from attending the GIFF event tonight. I enjoyed nearly all the clips this year. I especially enjoyed the last one (FTF guy with the girl problems, lol), the one with the kids playing medics with the injured cache, as well as the one with the guy who loses the FTF after his heroic swim on the floatie. Just curious what your favorite clips were....
  2. They got rid of the map a few weeks ago. I don't recall seeing an official explanation, but if there was one, someone will surely point it out here
  3. THIS! I personally don't want or need more people to flock to Geocaching. It's there for those who want to try it and enjoy it. Most do just that and then move on after a bit. Some develop a sick addiction (like me!) I wouldn't want anything like Pokemon Go influencing Geocaching. (To borrow a line from Seinfeld, "Not that there's anything wrong with it") I tried Pokemon and found it mildly entertaining. It will bore some, be fun for others and an addiction for a few, just like any hobby. C'est la vie
  4. Yep. This happened at MOGA this year. Law enforcement got involved when certain caches were placed down a couple of dead end streets forcing hundreds of cars to turn around at the neighbor's property at the end. Somehow the series survived that weekend although I know not how
  5. Definitely BEAST MODE! Would be too much, too fast for me, but RESPECT the plan and execution immensely!
  6. Double Fizzy and double Jasmer. Fizzy won't be hard. Jasmer.....we'll see
  7. I don't know if I would call getting 100,000 finds (legitimately) "easy" even with nothing but power trails.
  8. Not always. I have most of my top "favorited" hides in pretty common locations. The coolness comes from the container in each case. That being said, I am all about a cool location, cool container, or the best.....BOTH!
  9. "We've broken off challenge caches into their own separate website and dubbed them 'Geocaching® Challenges'. These should not be confused with the former 'challenge caches' or 'Geocaching Challenges'. Let's make better mistakes tomorrow!" And this came from ????
  10. I don't think he even realizes the "guy" is a reviewer. I'm thinking this person isn't fully cognizant of very much. It's not a personal attack...but based on his cache description and logs, he seems to be in an entirely different plane of reality from the rest of us. What I can't figure out is how he can be so clueless on so many levels after hiding so many caches. Not to say they are anything to write home about, but surprised more haven't been archived if he doesn't know the publication rules/guidelines.
  11. I don't think he even realizes the "guy" is a reviewer.
  12. And now the CO has closed the chapter on this one, deleting the "IT'S GONE" log and replacing it with an ARCHIVED. Wow, I need a cigarette after that ride (and I don't even smoke!)
  13. And just seconds later he logged a second find while exclaiming "IT'S GONE" in his log. This CO is sure a strange bird. He and the OP should have an event together at GZ. I'll make the drive from Ohio just to meet both of them AND log this one!
  14. Just curious is anyone knows what the picture of the wildfire in the gallery is about. The CO posted it as if it has some relevance and even mentions it in the updated cache description, but I must be missing something. This cache/CO just keeps getting stranger.
  15. Oh my! I got a headache just reading this!
  16. I don't like it when people call 911 on someone's cache, lol
  17. Boy I wish I lived closer. I see it is still up for grabs. The OP seem to be fairly inexperienced. But I do thank him/her for giving me something entertaining to read while I eat dinner.
  18. Not really sure but perhaps you could take another device and try again.
  19. Come to MOGA in a couple weeks and you'll be amazed by the density of QUALITY caches in SW Ohio!
  20. Yes. In my vernacular, "evil" means when I find it I say "WOW!" As opposed the "nasty" caches. If I find those, I say "Why did I bother?" Agree. I don't make many "evil" caches. I consider an evil cache one that usually takes more than one visit to locate. But NOT the "needle in the haystack" type (which are my least favorite kinds of hides). It takes more time to locate because it is hidden in a most unique manner. One of mine is "hidden in plain sight" and has 34 FP (46%) simply because as Harry Dolphin stated, when they find it, the tell me, "I can't believe it was right there!!!!" They curse me with a smile on their face and I know we are both happy!
  21. Will be my first! Looking forward to meeting lots of new cachers!
  22. A fellow Geocacher has moved on to that elusive terrain 6 GZ. Although I did not know him personally, this is from his online obituary: Larry R. Canfield AKA Cardinal Flyer, 65, of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho passed away March 13, 2016 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Larry was born July 6, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Chuck and Rose. Larry worked in the family business designing, modifying, and building equipment for the handicapped. He moved to southern California in the 70's where he met his wife and raised two daughters. Larry worked as a building repairer and advanced to inspector. In 1995 he moved to Coeur d' Alene where he retired. He enjoyed boating, camping, eBay, and geocaching. Larry is survived by he wife Sue; daughters Anna and Daisie; Son-in-laws John and Brendan and grand-kids; Caitlyn, Vivianna, Camron, Elizabeth, Joanna, and Griffen. Husband, Father, Grampaw and best friend. Goodbye. You will forever be missed.
  23. So MOGA is only a couple of weeks away and I am just curious who is going? If so, where are you coming from?
