  1. Heh - my cheap magellan explorist 210 has geocaching information (enough that you don't need the pocket pc). Maybe that'll convince garmin to do it :-)
  2. get a card reader from here: http://www.ledshoppe.com/cardreader.htm $3.00 for a card reader..... SHIPPING INCLUDED!!! I have ordered a bunch of stuff from them, and I can attest they are amazing!
  3. Well, I've used this setup for a year now, and I really like it.. Except for the fact that it's a bit of a pain (connecting the bluetooth device, sharing between apps on the pocket PC, dropping connections etc..). It works REALLY well when it's working, but it can be very frustrating when it's not (and I am a heavy computer /ppc user, so I know how they work). The other thing is that it's way more fragile than a garmin/magellan etc... SO, I recently purchased a explorist 210 and use it in conjunction with my ppc. I use mapopolis on the ppc to get me to the cache (amazing really...) and then at the actual cache site i fire up the magellan and get it to guide me to the spot. Hope that helps!

    Locked Caches

Lets add GCPRQ5 to the list - and my combination lock only lasted about 6 months before it became nearly impossible to open. It was in a very sheltered area too!
  5. The program mapopolis (from www.mapopolis.com) allows you to install the software for free and try out demo maps of the US (no canadian demos, but they are all I use! Very detailed maps, and if you wish to buy the canadian maps - it's $99.00 US - the Tom Tom maps that I have seen for central canada at least are very poor in comparison, but then I havn't seen the latest version of them, so take that with a grain of salt. Anyways, good luck, and let me know if you find some good maps that I havn't seen yet!
  6. Mapopolis has excellent canadian maps - i use them all the time
