  2. I like to play detective  . Could it be the user powerhenke you are after. He found a couple of caches in Blekinge at least where it seems that you also caches.

perhaps - but it was defiinitely powerhenk (no e) on the note

powerhenke has 6 founds and all around Ronneby so it really looks to be the right person.

  3. Does anyone know some more Arctic Circle caches?

We've done the one near Jokkmokk (and the webcam cache :) ). I know there are some more roads that cross the arctic circle. Are there any caches as well?

We also cross our fingers to visit an event. Last year we were near Ostersund when there was the barbeque event. And we also were at an event in Idre-which we enjoyed a lot.

Have you been in Nikkaloukta? If not. You just have to look for this cache.

    Paradise on earth. :)

    Edit.

There is a camp for you to stay overnight.

  4. Welcome to Sweden this summer.

Here I have a bookmarklist of my favorite caches.

If this cache is close to your route please have a stop and make sure to send an email letting us know you are comming.

If you like to make a stop for the night we have place for you and your campervan. :)

Maybe some barbecue in the evening. See this as an invitation. <_<

Sorry, can't speak Swedish and not a registered user so couldn't post there. I am going to mail to Mousekakat though for safety. Probably drop a pathtag in the TB hotel so if they strike, not much of a loss.

There is a Guestforum that you could make a post without be registerd user and ofcourse you can post in English.

    And click at "Nytt inlägg"

Welcome to Sweden by the way.

  6. Hi all,

Should a cache log entry for "needs maintenance" be equivalent to a "found it" log entry?

    No

I'm a newbie so I may have this back to front but...I logged a visit to a cache yesterday where the cache container lid had a hole in it, so the log type I chose was "needs maintenance". There were 2 problems after I did this:

    1. When I was checking the geocaching map today, the cache icon was not the smiley face "found it" one, it was the standard cache icon - even though I found it yesterday.

You need to do a found log first. And if there is problem with the cache. As in your case a hole in the lid. Then you make a need maintenance log.

To get around this a few minutes ago I deleted the "needs maintenance" log and replaced it with a normal "found it" log. Problems 1 and 2 above went away then. I figured that this should already have sent an email to the cache owner for a fix.

Yes the owner got mail about all the logs and even mail when you delete a log.

  7.

Anyone else in Sweden encountering the same problem? I wonder if your TCP connection is being reset. Not much help, all I can say is that with many combos of browsers, PCs and ISPs, I haven't seen that.

    I have the same problem.

  8. How do I publish a cache that is disabled upon publication.

That is, the reviewer ok’s the cache and it is published. Will the reviewer disable it if I ask via the - Note to Reviewer:

Or do I have to look out for it to be published (check my email) and then disable it.

I don’t have physical access to GZ to plant the cache at the moment as its fenced off but want to get it all ready. So that its active as soon as its unveiled.

You can´t get a cache published until the physical cache is in place.

Ofcourse you can if you don´t tell your reviewer about it but we don´t publish caches that not are "findable".

  9.

I think that will work..I was relucent to do that because it resets the date to logs after 2001 but since that isn't really working anyway. I'll try that for a while and see how it goes...Thanks a bunch

If you clean fieladnotes at gc.com and erase you geocachevisits file in the GPS that should give you a clean start again and the second time you upload the file click in the box "Ignore logs before...."

That should work. (I hope) :)

  10. Erase the file "geocache_visits.txt" in your GPS. The GPS will make a new file when you starting log caches again.

As I stated in my post, I have deleted the geocache visit file. That use to work but now it doesn't. Any other suggestions?

    Sorry I missed that.

ANd you have erased all logs in fieldnotes on GC.com?
