  1. I have a MAC pro lap top. The browser is Safari. In the past year I used both the lap top and Garmin GPS's 62st/Oregon 650t go through 1500 Geocaches w/o any problem s until today. All of the caches are down loaded from the Geocache web site. Garmin web site has confirm that I have the latest plug=in software installed and Garmin also recognizes both GPS's........
  2. Once I am on the web and click on a particular cache to download to the GPS I keep getting the message that I don't have the updated plug-in. the plug-in is current and the Garmin plug-in recognizes the GPS. Why am I having this problem with the Geocache web site?
  3. Well here we are again. After spending the last 4 months Geocaching in California, Arizona, Nevada the unit decided to become a bloody twit again. I've probably downloaded and processed over 500 Geocaches w/o any problems. I should note that I had to send the last 650t back to Garmin for a replacement to correct the same problem last time. The caches are deleted from the GPX file ever day after Geocaching and no cache is over 25 miles from my start position. Even though I can see the caches in the GPX file I can not get them to open up when I search for a cache near my position and of course I get the same anal reply that I need to adjust my perimeters......... I have a Mac Pro and the software for the 650t is up to date
  4. Okay. The cache I downloaded to the 650t was about 2 miles from my home location and no, I did not find this one. When I mentioned filtering out it is on the GPS. Usually a day or two before I go geocaching I go to the web site and look over various caches that I want to do. I next click on the cache and transfer it to my GPS. After downloading 15-20 caches I'll go to the GPS GPX folder and make sure the caches are there. I next disconnect then open the GPS to make sure the caches are in the Geocaching folder. Out in the field next geocaching until the end of the day. Next I log the caches I find and delete all of the data in the GPS GPX folder. I gone through this routine for years now. As I explained earlier with all of the problems I've been having recently I went through the same routine with the one cache and again got the same reply that I should adjust my settings. I next hooked up the GPS to Basecamp and downloaded what data I had on the GPS. The Basecamp shows the cache as it is at the right location.
  5. Adjusting and blocking files? You lost me there... If you copy the /profiles directory to your computer first you could try to reset the unit to default values. Next, see if you can load a close by cache and see if it shows on the map. BTW, have you checked zoom levels in setup > map > advanced setup > zoomlevels > geocaches Use anything above 1Km/mile, srcoll the map to the cache location and start zooming in. I should of said adjusting the filters. Just went through the setup>map> etc, etc no luck there either.
  6. I just went back in deleted the GPX file on the 650t. Next downloaded a cache 2 miles from my location then tried to pull it up and get the standard reply of adjusting you perimeters. And yes the GPX file on the 650 does show the cache being there. I even went into the 650 and adjusted and blocked files in the Geocaching file that I would not use. I next opened up Basecamp and downloaded the 650 and the cache shows up on the map.
  7. Reply from who/what?? Where are the loaded caches located? More than 100Km from your current location? If so, you won't see them but if you scroll the map to where they should be and then zoom in you'll see them. You can also use "search near"... All of my caches are no further then 30 miles from my home location. The caches are downloaded to the device and usually deleted at the end of the same day. I've gone through with Garmin on all of the issues related to this problem but now Garmin is telling me its the software on the Geocaching web page which I think is BS
  8. I've been using the 650t for the last 5 months in one location. About 2 weeks ago I could not get the 650t to open up to the caches down loaded. I kept getting the same reply that I needed to adjust my settings. I emailed Garmin Support for help but none of their recommendations seem to help. Need help here...
  9. New to the game; need advise on downloading Geocach points to my Garmin GPSmap76. I am running Windows XP on my laptop.
